Worked well for me. I had already requested off from work for several other classes (ACLS, PALS, BTLS, etc), so it was convenient being able to do this one at home then just run over to an instructor for a quick skills check-off at lunchtime.

Yep, I did it too back in Sept of 2004 when it first started coming out.

The testing online is great and after having to search a little bit for a training center to check me off on skills (a lot of places hadn't even heard of it yet), I ended up at my local firestation where I found an instructor - and he was cute too!

I definitely recommend this way of renewing if you can find someone to check off your skills.

i renewed this way and i thought the process was very convenient. i completed the online course and presented the certificate to the hospital where i work and they did the skills check off there. the instructor was not familiar with ebls recert at first so i had to explain the option to her.
