Sure. Vinyl allergy. There are non-vinyl BP cuffs available.

Might also be a latex allergy, as the bulb and tubing can be made from latex.

thanks for help. thats what I thought but no matter where I bring my mom, and a reaction happens, the docs/ nurses/etc act suprised and have never heard of it! appreciate your confirmation!

there are sleeves to use that go on the arm, underneath the cuff. We use them on our patients.

It's also possible that there is an allergy to either what people use to clean it, or (more likely, since I don't think they get cleaned very often) the collective goo from other people.
Even when they put it over her clothes, wrap it in something, etc, she gets a bright red itchy ring on her arm.

How long does it take to go away? Does she need to take an antihistamine for it?
Interesting... wouldn't that preclude any sort of contact dermatitis type stuff?
How long does it last for?
Is it bilateral?
Is the same arm every time?
bilateral..... usually itchy and red for a cpl hours.
