Block 4 Resources

U.S.A. Arizona

Hello all!

I was lucky enough to get accepted to do block 4 at GWCC during the summer. I will graduate in August now instead of December! Woo!

That being said, does anyone have an recommendations for extra books or anything that helped in block 4? (Block 4 is now Peds then Critical Care.)

Thanks!

okay i gotta know, how did the rest of the semester go?! should i do it?!

We have 2 weeks left! I'll let you know!

Good luck! I can't wait to hear how it turned out. I am beyond excited to be staring my journey with UIU this fall.

If you could work part time or PRN, that'd be better. I wouldn't suggest full time.

Hi rachaelofcourse, congratulations! :) How soon will you able to take your NCLEX now? I'm just curious because I'm about to start my block 4 and I have heard different answers as to how early we can take the NCLEX after graduation.

It depends on how quick the school is to send the stuff to the board! We've been told if we don't have our ATT within 2 weeks to contact the school and make sure that the paperwork was sent. Once you have your ATT, you can schedule to take it any time. There's only 2 testing facilities in the valley, 1 in Tucson, 1 in Vegas, and 1 in San Diego, so you might have to wait a little bit for a test date. Hope this helps!

Thank you! This cleared up a lot :)

How did you do? Is it difficult?

The BON and Pearson vue state that there will be at least one date available within 45 days of getting your ATT. My original NCLEX date was at about 40 days out. It I checked the site every day and was able to take it at just under 2 weeks from getting my ATT. People cancel and reschedule their test dates all the time so earlier dates pop up. A lot of my class mates were able to reschedule their dates for sooner then their original by just looking.

I did fine! The time crunch kind of sucked, but it's doable.
