Birth Control part of discharge teaching?

Another poster prompted me to wonder if you all include methods of BC as part of your d/c teaching? I know I was asked when I had my kids.

I find it just incredible that pp BC would not be taught!

Especially to teen new moms!

i've seen the d/c papers from when my mom had me (almost 17 yrs ago) and, as someone before said (forgive me-i don't know names), they told her nothing lady partslly until her pp checkup.

I work at a Catholic factility and while we teach lady partsl rest for the first 6 weeks, we do give Depo to pts who have requested it from their docs. Different BC options are not included in discharge teaching but pts are encouraged to discuss their options with their provider at their PP check up. The facilities I delivered my children at, were not affiliated with any religion, and did not include BC in discharge teaching. Then again, BF mothers should not take hormonal BC until a good supply is established anyway.
