Bio Degree to BSN???

Published

Hello everyone i need some advice. I have two to three classes left until i receive my associate degree. Since I haven't done well on the Hesi(and this will be my fourth time taking it) I was going to just get my bachelors in Biology and then once I'm done there I was going to try an apply a nursing school then. I live in Houston, so if there are nurses or biology majors who made a move such as this I would really appreciate your feedback thanks and God Bless you all.

Specializes in orthopedic/trauma, Informatics, diabetes.

I did BS Biology to ADN (2012) and then RN-BSN (2015) after I worked a couple of year. My BS was in from 95.

I have a BS in Biology in 2000. Went back to school (2007) got my ASN in 2009. Then did a ASN to MSN bridge for people with BS in other subjects.

So you can get an in an associates nursing program even if you have a bachelors? I didn't know that. Thanks

I have a BA in Chemistry and a masters of public health. Currently enrolled in an ADN program because it was the fastest cheapest route for me to get to my goal

I have a bachelor's in a totally different field. I'm in school for my adn. The downside is once you get a bachelor's degree you are no longer eligible for Pell grant.

I did my ADN with a BS and an MA. Community college is much cheaper so it was feasible without the Pell grant.
