Binghamton BAT program 2019-2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi guys, I didn't see a discussion board for for Binghamton BAT program 2019-2020 yet, so i figured I would start one for those who are thinking about applying for this cohort. Is there anyone in the process of doing the application? Also, if any current students have any helpful tips to make your application more competitive or opinions on the program itself?

Hi I applied early and I'm eagerly awaiting an admissions decision. I think the application closes in November, and all decisions are released by January the latest. The application made it seem like you could complete prerequisites while at Binghamton? I found that form would be confusing to people who are interested in applying before having all prerequisites completed. "In progress" might be a better option to have when filling out that form.

The application was surprisingly simple and actually refreshing in that way. However, it makes me suppose that they're screening applicants based on GPA, since that's the only information they're asking for.

Hi!! I applied early and i'm waiting for a decision as well. I actually applied last cycle but it was every late. I didnt get everything submitted until mid-late november and didn't have all my pre-reqs done until last spring. I was waitlisted but wasnt lucky enough to get in. Hopefully second times a charm.

What attracted you to apply to Binghamton?

Hi, I submitted my application about a month ago. I am a current undergrad at Binghamton graduating in May 2019. Is there anyone who has applied to the program in the past or completed it as a Binghamton undergrad? Just wondering what kind of experiences/GPA people had on their applications in the past. Additionally, does anyone know if there is a specific ratio of Binghamton/non Binghamton students admitted into the BAT program? I know the total admitted is around 80-90.

I have had friends in the program and even had a friend who successfully did and internal transfer to Decker after her second year. I would expect a similar rigor of coursework as other undergraduate majors at the University. Some would come home crying or extremely high strung after clinicals and sleep deprivation, so I would say that is what wore on them the most.

I've read on a stony brook FAQ that suny school academic difficulty will be taken into account, however it's not a be-all-end-all. I expect Binghamton will follow suit while reviewing.

I graduated from Binghamton as well though I'm not sure I want to return because I found it a drab and unenticing location.

My local colleges program is actually more demanding, surprisingly, which is annoying due to the amount of time it takes to complete the prerequisites.

The reason i applied to Binghamton is because I'm local and i graduated undergrad at hofstra in '14. For me, i dont think i can afford moving elsewhere and going to school.

I had a 3.2 gpa when i initially applied. My pre-req was a 3.5( 3 pre-reqs i didnt finish yet). I was a biology (pre-professional/micro bio, chem minor) I have a lot of volunteer and shadowing at the hospital on my resume and ive been a narcotic pharmacy tech supervisor for 2 yrs.

I've applied and had all my application materials in by 9/21/18. I have 4 prereqs left. Right now I am currently taking Intro Psych, I start A&P II next week, and I am taking Developmental Psych in January. So the only class I need to find to take in the spring is Microbiology.

Hey is anyone considering the Traditional 2-year program? I graduated last May and have completed all my pre-reqs. I don't have a great pre-req GPA compared to the students that were accepted in the last cycle. But I am scared about the number of people they will accept as a Junior Transfer to their Nursing Program.

Yea I think the 2 year is a great option as well if this nursing is what you really want.

If you get waitlisted/denied to the accelerated option you'll have to wait a year anyway, so it might be a good use of time.

In last cycle thread people heard back October 27th, but I was told by an advisor they send decisions out the end of November. Idk why there's a discrepancy there.

Hi Guys!

I applied early in September... anxiously awaiting a response! I heard people in the past had gotten responses as early as October 26th, so I'm super antsy!

It makes me nervous that they didn't ask for much information... I have a perfect GPA and a solid resume but how much can they really tell about myself from just those things?!!? Best of luck to everyone!

has anyone heard back yet?? it seems like last year they started hearing around the 26th/27th, but I also think that they might've started processing applications a little later this year. the waiting game is awful!
