Okay,
I just got my acceptance letter in the mail today!!
I was going totally mental with anxiety, checking this board several times a day to see when people were hearing back, compared to when they had applied and what their stats were. I was also very nervous about how I had done on the TEAS, so I wanted to post my info to help other people a little. Here are my stats:
I applied to the school January 4th, 2010. I took the TEAS January 23rd, 2010.
Previous BA degree in anthropology. I graduate in August of 2009 with a 3.46 cumulative GPA.
I took A&P I last fall, at Gateway: B
Developmental Psych: A
TEAS: 81.2% (mean national was 72.8% and the mean for the program 73.3%)
My adjusted individual scores were as follows:
Reading: 82.5%
Math: 82.2%
Science: 70%
English: 85.5%
In all my nervousness, I called two days ago and was told that I would likely hear back from the in school 4-6 weeks. Then I got my letter today, February 5th. For the record, my admissions essay was based on a CNA training course I took in the fall and I also think that having a previous BA really helped, especially in seeing past that nasty 70% in the science section of the TEAS.
Good luck and I hope this information was helpful, or at least of interest, to some of you!!
Hey, Im new to this website but I've also recently applied to BHSN and I've also been biting my nails since I dropped off my application of roughly 2weeks ago.
Here are some of my credentials:
Psych:B
A&P:A
Chem:C
Bio101:A
ENG101:B
ENG102:B
KINESIOLOGY:B
TEASV: 76.3 Individual score:sniff:
I attend Anderson Univ. in Anderson, SC as a sophomore and I've been enrolled in rigorous courses since high school. I've taken 3 AP classes and I've been involved in 4 sports throughout high school along with numerous clubs. I can say I'm sort of a well-rounded individual. I had a GPA of 3.4 until this past semester I bombed my chem class with a C , the class weighed 5cred hrs . which caused my GPA to really suffer. So now I have a GPA of around 3.2 . The only confidence I do have in my application is my essay and my 3 references which I can say were EXCELLENT. hopefully these can help me get in, because unfortunately this is the ONLY school I applied to with no back up plan.
wish me luck!
You should really apply to another school. Gateway and some of the other community colleges application deadline have not yet passed. I also applied to Bridgeport's program. I got me letter of acceptance last week but maybe that was because I applied early so don't get discouraged if you have not yet heard from them.
My stats. were:
AP 1 = A
AP 2 = A
MicroB = A
Public Speaking = A
Chemistry = B
English 102 = A
GPA = 3.86
TEAS V = 75
Remember they take everything into account not just grades so chin up; be confident but cushion yourself by applying to other programs.
I had to call them today because theyve had my completed app for almost 3weeks now and they "notified" me they would send it to the committee for review. but clearly they thought that i needed to take my teas v, which i already did. lol .....but owell, she told me she was actually bringing it up to the committee right away. but who knows!
I'm just sick of waitingggggg
Hopefully I'll be hearing back verrrrrrrrrrry soon though.
I still have not applied anywhere else.
That is, just to avoid the stress because I am still taking classes.
