BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

U.S.A. Connecticut

Published

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

I did not receive an e-mail so I'm sure your right. Thanks for the info.

I got it this evening, as well.

Anyone who requested evenings most likely got it, for just got an email saying there are still 6 more evening seats.

I requested evenings but i didnt get an email. But now that i know lectures are pretty much all day 2xs a week im not sure if it makes a difference since i was hoping to keep my current job, but i dont think i will be able to.

KristenR I didn't because it is easier for me to find afternoon nanny jobs, than mornings.

JustMe28 by what I know it is lecture all day 1 x week. I think it is Tuesdays. Then the half days would be wed and thu or thu and fri. All depends on what Lab group you are in. If your Lab is wed, your clinical is thu. If your lab is thu, your clinical is friday.

Also, the evening program (lab and clinical) is for the 1st semester only!

I know someone who is in the program now and instead of lecture being a full day, this past year they tried it two half days instead. Not sure if they will continue that for us in the Fall or go back to one full day a week.

In another post a current student said it was all day 2x's a week. It would be great if it was half day. I do know its not for the whole program, but I think its until level 2 which would begin in May.

So if they did 2 half days would that make the program 5 days per week the first semester? I really need to know these things...now!

Wendyf: The first semester, I believe, is only 3 days a week. The second semester starts 4 days a week.

When I called BHSN a couple weeks ago I told them that I needed those informations now, so that I could figure out my work situation, but they didn't seem very interested on helping... they just said that the schedule wasnt defined yet, and that "we would know it when they know it"... :(

Does anyone know if we are still supposed to get our orientation packets in May?
