BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

Yes mine says Day too. I was really hoping for Evening, but of course I'm happy to be accepted. I'm also wondering about Microbiology. I've taken it already and it just makes the requirement of 7 years? I'm hoping I won't have to retake it, i'd really like to save the cash if I can. No clue how or where I'll be working come Fall.

Everyone's is set to DAY.. They just sent an email on how to put in your request for PARTIAL EVENING but it's first come first serve. Good luck guys !

Oh my gosh!! I just responded to the email. I'm freaking out now, I hope we get it!:nailbiting: When will they let us know? I wonder how many people they choose for the evening program?

JustMe28 I believe they divide the class in 2... so I would say at least 60 people? Just guessing...

Guys, I just got a letter in the mail about the Loan options that I'm approved for. I dont understand a lot about it, but it seems like my options are Direct Subsidized and Direct Unsubsidized Loans. I wonder if I could get both, as the Subsidized only covers half of the tuition?

vivinursingstudent: Did you have to already apply for the loans you got approved for? I only applied for financial aid so far, but I am going to need a loan. Just wondering if everyone gets that letter.

Kristen the letter that I got was an offer based on my FAFSA. Unfortunately I wasnt approved for any kind of "free money" because of my current income.

The letter gives me those 2 options of Loans, and I have until the 20th to answer.

I just called BHSN and Mrs LaCroix told me that I CAN get both if I want it. :) as the Subsidized part has its interests payed by the government! but it would cover only half of the tuition :)

BTW I did some research and those Federal Loans seem to be our best bet as far as interest rates.

Did anyone hear back about getting into the evening program? I emailed them the same day the email went out and Im keeping my fingers crossed!

No, but I am really nervous because I didn't respond until an hour and a half later. I really hope not alot of people requested the partial evening. Hopefully we will hear back soon.

I didn't respond for almost 3 hours :nailbiting: so who knows. The only way I'll be able to keep my current job is to do the partial evenings..Keep our fingers crossed we made the cut.

Anyone who requested evenings most likely got it, for just got an email saying there are still 6 more evening seats.
