BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

vivinursingstudent: Thank you for sharing the info with everyone!! Just knowing that lecture will be on tuesdays and not past 4pm is a huge help. I can't wait to get the orientation packet now!!

Hahaha KristenR, so cant I! lol She said she might send half of it friday, half monday... So no chasing the poor mailman (woman in my case) until at least Tuesday hahaha

I think she said 8 for lecture and 7 for CLI, not sure though...

Did Yolanda tell you what time lecture would start on Tuesdays? I know Tuesday is not set in stone, but most likely will be that day.

vivinursingstudent: I also stalked the mail, but nothing came:( . I am hoping that it comes tomorrow. If ours went out in the second half then it went out today since there was no mail yesterday. Let me know if yours comes tomorrow.

Im getting antsy so decided to call BHSN again about o.p. packets and was told 1st half went out last week and 2nd half would be going out tomorrow. Thought they would have been sent out yesterday.

JustMe28 that's what they have told me when I called... that they would be sending the last half on "monday".....

I still haven't got anything yet :(

Hopefully we will have them friday, saturday the latest. Wish they would have just sent them all at the same time.

So finally got the o.p. and i'm overwhelmed at what needs to be done before orientation. There is health information forms, 2 tests that need to be completed, background check, and also an appointment made with imc at the hospital for drug test. Uniforms, id badge, books, before class starts. Anyone else get theres yet?

I’ve finally decided to join the site after catching up on this thread and finding everyone’s post to be so informative! Like most of you, I am starting in the fall and I still have not received the OP. I honestly can’t imagine it taking this long! Hopefully mine has been sent in the “second batch”…… is anyone else concerned with how disorganized BHSN seems to be?!?

I would think that sending out the OPs would be a pretty routine thing for a school that has been around as long as this one has. I am feeling very frustrated! Has the schedule for the fall been finalized yet?? It’s hard enough as it is to make plans for work and register for classes at HCC… urg!

In the meantime, I am slowly becoming besties with the mailman! Anyone who received the OP know when orientation is scheduled? Or is that TBA.......?

I was reading the student handbook from last year and need to submit/complete the following…

  • Physical
  • Tuberculin test
  • Proof of immunizations
  • Drug test
  • Background check
  • BLS certification

Along with uniforms, ID badge, and books...

Am I missing anything?
