BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

I spoke with them again yesterday and it seems like orientation meeting is held in June. I have probably gotten my OP today as well, but I wont be home until night... :(

trixieteal welcome!!!!! They will announce your schedule at the orientation meeting. what is taking them so long is that each of one us might be in a different group, that is why they can't announce one particular schedule. Yolanda told me that there are groups A B C D E . The only thing they do together is lecture on Tuesdays. 8am - 4 pm most likely.

Checked the mail today and no OP yet.

For those that have received it already, can you tell us the date of the Orientation? I have classes in June and July, and would like to know if I'll need to make arrangements to miss a class to attend the orientation.

Assuming we all have the same day for orientation, the date in my packet says june 25, @215pm. Trixieteal: i can relate i'll be starting microbio class Monday and i work full time, so i will be doing a lot of running around to get everything completed before orientation. It does say we will go over class schedules at orientation. So ill have to wait to speak to my supervisor about changing my work schedule.

As I mentioned before, orientation is not the same day for everyone!

Mine, for example, will be at June 17th, 11AM.

What you could do, if you want to start taking care of things, is to make an appointment with your physician, because there are 2 forms that he/she will need to fill up for you. And also go to the website Welcome To: Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing Health Care Background Screening and run you background check, which is due June 7.

Thanks. I knew I'd need a physical and had one a few weeks ago. Also took care of all my vaccinations. So would just need to drop off the paperwork at my dr's office. :)

Now, just need to do everything else. Lol.

It is a lot to do, but most of the deadlines are august, so I think we are good! :)

Has everyone received their Orientation Packets???

If the "second group" was mailed out Wednesday or even Thursday, we should have received them today???

I still have not received my Orientation Packet either.

vivinursingstudent: Thank you for posting the background check website and all of the other info in the OP packets. I did the background check last night and I feel like at least I have one thing accomplished.
