BHSN: Applying to Bridgeport Hosp for Fall 2013

Hi All,

I thought I would start a new topic for those of us who are planning to apply to BHSN's Nursing program for the Fall 2013.

I will get things started with my stats (which aren't great...but not too terrible!):

TEAS - 78% (planning to re-take)

GPA - 3.2 (currently)

I also applied to GWCC and Southern, so hopefully I will get into one of these programs!

I think they have everyone coming in every 15 min. I think it's set up as separate stations, so it's a one-on-one consultation. I think.

Finally got my packet today.

I thought I had all my vaccinations done but see they added Meningcocccal. So back to the doctor! LOL!

One question, the health forms have to be turned in by August 16th, but if you're redoing a series of vaccines, they won't be completed by that time (like Hep B where the third dose is 6 months after the first). So do we have them write in the anticipated date???

I also finally got my O.P packet. My date is June 24th.

I just got my OP yesterday and am scheduled for the 24th also! I'm thinking they sent the packets out alphabetically? My last name starts with S.....not that it really matters. I am just glad that it finally came! Thanks again to everyone who shared info on the OP! It was a big help :)

If you already completed the series for Hep B once then you wouldn't redo it. I believe you would just need the titer done for school. Anyway that's my understanding of it but I am hardly an expert! Did your physician recommend repeating the series?

I noticed today that on sonisweb it finally switched me to "evening" division instead of days!! Did anyone else select evenings and get it?

I just checked and they've finally switched it to evenings for me too. Wonder how many groups there are for evenings or if there's just one group.

I was switched to evenings also. I am pretty sure who ever requested them got it.

I had the Hep B series done about 4-5 years ago. My doctor did a titer and it showed the I was not vaccinated. With the Hep B vaccine, sometimes it does not work. :(

If you went to elementary school in the US you would have had Hepatitis B vac. and you wouldn't need to repeat that.

I went to school here, was born here. But titer showed I wasn't immune and I had the vaccine. So doctor gave me a booster and have to recheck in a month.

Has anyone had orientation yet? Wondering what day and time lecture will be.

HI EVERYONE!

ItS BEEn forever since I last logged in! Congrats to everyone that was accepted! Sooo I received my O.P and my orientation date is JUne 17th at 1030, does anyone else have this date? I am also in the evening division, which allows me to still work at least for level one lol
