I've been a nurse for a few years and recently started NP school and I find myself wondering if this is the right career path for me. I do think I would enjoy working as a NP, but I also feel like I would enjoy case management too as this is something I've looked into in the past. I just wanted to get others opinions about whether being a NP or case manager(work from home) would provide better long term career opportunities/flexibility. Whatever path I choose I'm only looking for part time work. I'm a person that changes their mind more than I'd like so, I'm trying hard to figure out what would be best for me. Any thoughts?

With all due respect, I think whatever you do you'll have to work full time with the patient demographic in some capacity to pay the NP school loans back.
There's just no way out of that reality.
So that should keep you focused for at least five or ten years unless you elect the pay as you earn option which then would entail the possible lifetime of debt payback option.
I hope this helps.

Isn't his assuming that the OP is taking out loans for their education? I am sure they probably have weighed that aspect of their decision. Some people have employers who pay, and others like me are very blessed to have finances to pay for it themselves.
As for the OP, I am sure you can do part time wither way. GOOD luck with your decision.

Thank you. I will be paying for school with a combination of money I've saved, scholarships, and employer tuition reimbursement. There is no way to know 100% what's the best decision so fingers crossed on this one.
