Best way to work short terms in UK

Published

Hi all,

I am a Spanish nurse, registered with the NMC in UK (RN1 grade), and I am looking for to work short term contracts in UK.

I would like to work one month every two months or two months every three months in UK, because I am actually living in South Africa and I don't want to be too long time far away of my family.

My question is what is the best way to do that? agencies? directly speak with the hospitals? I read in some threads to avoid the agencies....anyone working with agencies who could give some advices, agency names?

Any advice??

Many thanks for your help!!

Cheers

Pili

I really think you will struggle to see something like this especially now with the current UK climate. You may get agency work but they will not be able to guarantee this and expect to see less and less agency being used

Thanks Silverdrago102 for your quick answer, so what do you think that I should do?, to contact directly to the hospitals?

I was thinking in agencies because in France the best way to find short terms contracts is using agencies....

Thanks again

I seriously doubt the hospitals will offer short terms contracts like this but you could contact HR and ask them.

It may be worth looking in the areas you want to work, there may be something as some hospitals will use short term contracts to cover maternity or sick leave. Phone the hospitals and ask if they have anything

Hi there,

I am currently working in NHS and I know this for sure that some NHS hospitals have NHS professionals working for them to cover sick and staff shortages. this is their web address : http://www.nhsprofessionals.nhs.uk/

Maybe you can work flexibly with them providing you fulfil their requirements. This is an agency but a department of health agency so you get nearly same benefits as NHS staff except some training. You will have to find out. but this is at least a start.
