Best way to prepare for nclex in 3 weeks!!

Published

It took me a while to get my ATT for nclex because I had a minor set back due to some legal things I had to deal with. Now the time has finally come and I got my ATT but now i'm a nervous reck. I've been studying with virtual ATI a program my school advised us to use but for some reason I've been slacking with using ATI and i've been gearing more towards Saunders nclex book and CD 5th edition. I don't know if this is the right thing to do, which is why i'm asking you all. I still don't feel prepared for some reason. Is there anything else I should be using to help me prepare, should I just stick to Saunders or ATI or maybe even both I just need to get more organized with exactly how I should study for these next couple of weeks. I've been studying almost everyday doing a little here and there for about 2 weeks but now that I actually have a set date I want to start studying more and doing more questions. Any advice on how you studied and passed is greatly appreciated, please help. Thank you

Okay if I were in your shoes this is what I would do. First I would start studying all of the major functions of each major organ in the body. And Im not talking "kidneys make pee". Im talking about knowing to the point of detail- as in what happens in the loop of henle, how blood is essentially turned into urine, and the adrenal portion of the kidney. Everyone that you meet will tell you things like "why would you ever have to know what happens at the really small scale when you only have such little time?" If you know what happens at the small scale, then your common sense should tell you what to do when patient problems arise. ex- "Hey, the patient is losing alot blood and his O2 levels are low despite 100% non-rebreather, why cant I get a good 02 sat?!?" Well if you know at the small scale you'll know that hemoglobin carries 02, so what do you do? Give blood.....

I am currently using virtual ATI, and I hate it. Some questions are terrible and wrong. My school requires it as well, I am doing every assessment just so I have the GO pass to take the nclex, I want to study my own way. Do you like ATI?
