Hello Everyone,
I am gonna relocate to TN and I am looking the good college - Nashville Community College, Columbia Community, Tennessee State University. I can't decide which college and I don't know anything about those colleges. Could you please advice me about these and let me know about any college other than I mentioned above which has good nursing program. (I am sincerely thinking about Columbia Community College - If you are already in Columbia - Franklin, please give me your advice and consent.
Many thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome to the site. I moved your thread to the TN State Nursing Programs forum where I think you will get more response from our TN members.

Columbia State is VERY VERY hard to get into. You have to have a 3.5 or higher MINIMUM, they say less but trust me, I transferred out b/c of how hard it is to get in. They only have 80 spots for like 400 people per semester. It's b/c it's the only ASN program in this area. If you go to Nashville, your options are better. I live in Spring Hill, right between Columbia and Franklin, and it's a BEAUTIFUL area, but you have to go to Nashville for your education, which is a 35-45 minute drive. Seriously though, unless you have perfect grades, perfect GPA, good HIGH ACT score (they still look at ACT score even if you're an older student!!!!) of a 23 or better, you won't get in. Just the sad truth. Good luck, go to Nashville for school!!!!

Stay away from TSU if you can. Look up past posts about it here on allnurses to tell you why.
Belmont is a private university with a good program in Nashville. Motlow state community college has a good reputation for their program. Aquinas is a private catholic university with an excellent program. Muddle TN state university also has an excellent program but its in Murfreesboro. Cumberland university is also private but I don't know much about their program.
See, I forgot about those CrazyGoonLPN mentioned, there are truely a LOT of places around Nashville, if you live there and they are an easy commute. Motlow is good from what I hear. I got accepted yesterday (YEA!!!) at Aquinas, which in IN Nashville in the Belle Meade area...which is beautiful and safe. Good luck!

Tennessee Tech University's program has witnessed a 100% first time NCLEX pass rate for several graduating classes in a row now which was one of the major reasons behind my decision to choose them for my nursing education. It's one of the more difficult programs to get into but it isn't impossible.
Thanks Everyone. This is a lot of info about colleges. I am thinking about Columbia (going to do prerequisites this semester). I already have Bachelor degree (no need of ACT ?) and hopefully, I will maintain my GPA this semester. Aquinas is really expensive and I can't get financial aid because I am an immigrant student who is studying in visa. Please feed me your pros and corns about Tennessee Tech University Nursing program and Motlow State community college. Thank you for your time to helping me to make wise decision.
You NEED ACT score at Columbia state, and a high score too, not just a 19 or 20. I hated it there. Did my pre-reqs there, their program is known to be really bad. I would highly suggest looking other places. Good luck!!!
Pros for TTU would have to be:
Cons:
Thanks serendipity47. The info TTU is really helpful. 100% NCLEX Pass rate and amazing instructors at affordable cost are tempting me. Anyone please advise me about Motlow Community College. I really appreciate your help.

MTSU is great and Murfreesboro isn't far from Nashville. However, I probably wouldn't go there if I already had a degree bc the program is 5 semesters and I think a lot of others are only 4.
