Hi all!!!
I am needing to take A&P2 at TCC this summer. Can anyone give me a tip on who the best teachers are to take it from? Any input would be great!!! Thanks!
I'm confused; it these profs are hard, how can they be awesome?
I ask this because I have the professor from hell in Micro and I am not learning
anything because she keeps piling more and more work on top of the 4-5
chapters we already have to try to read just to try to begin to understand any
of the material.
I had a micro instructor at Northlake way back in 1995. She was the ABSOLUTE
BESST!!!! Very fair, actually took time to help you understand and taught it with
nurses in mind a NOT Ph D. students!!! Oh how I wish I could remember her name!!
She even wrote me a note saying how much she enjoyed having me in her class:)
She was a petite blond with large legs; anybody have a name?
I would DROP the sadist drill sargeant in a second to take it with her again.
One thing that's helped me a bunch is going to www.ratemyprofessors.com... put in the teacher name, or school, and ta-da... reviews from tons of students. It gives you a decent idea of what to expect, unless the teacher is brand-new.
I wish I would have known about that site a few semesters before I found it.

It's the actual material that's hard, not necessarily who's teaching it. The professor's are teaching by the book, they didn't make this stuff up to be mean and hard. Mr Barton did his very best to make the material more understandable and did an excellent job. He expects you to do your part and study hard and pre-read the material before coming to class.
There are hard teachers that are rude and mean and probably want you to fail, like the one you describe, but Barton isn't like this. He is tough in a way that he wants you to learn the material, but not to the point of piling the work on. He also will spend office time helping with student having difficulty. I've had teachers that actually gave answers to test. Now, I'm sure there are some of you that will say bring it on, but if you do, I sure wouldn't want you to be my nurse.
I hope you can understand what is meant by a tough instructor. Yours sounds like a poor instructor.
