Best shoes for clinicals

I want everyone's take on which shoes are the best for clinical purposes. I want something that will treat my feet well, but at the same time I don't want to spend a car payment on a pair of specialized nursing shoes for my school uniform only to be hired at a hospital with strict dress codes. My thoughts on this is that I'll use my time in school to experiment with several pairs of affordable shoes to find out what my feet like, then splurge on the expensive stuff once I graduate. I have heard that some of the more inexpensive brands (new balance, Nike, reebok) are great. I'm asking which brand/model everyone wore for clinicals. My school isn't very strict--just has to be white closed toe shoes. I want something close to leather that I can wipe off though.

I am overweight so finding one for me was difficult. I bet I bought 100 pairs. I finally found Dove by NurseMates. White leather. I also wear support socks. They are only 60.00. And, they last me 9m to a year.

I got nurse mate Dove as well. They were very comfortable to me

I know everyone's feet are different but I purchased the Timberland Pro Renova's (I attached a link) and have had no issues with them. I think my first week wearing them, I had to break them in a little because my big toe hurt from pressing on the inside but no issues now. I feel like they've gotten looser with wear (I've been wearing them for 4 months now and my shifts are about 13 hours straight on my feet) and are super comfortable. Easy to wipe off anything that spills on them so I really have no complaints other than that I think they're kind of ugly but I'd rather comfortableness (is that a word?) haha. Oh and very affordable! I also wear the compression stockings which I think super duper help (I attached a link). Just my two cents! :)
