I just bought some online because my friend that gave me her old scrubs just took them all back
I didn't want to have to buy them online because I'm small with huge boobs so nothing ever fits right. So here's hoping...
I was surprised to see that the Family Dollar has scrubs. Even the smalls are huge and most are ugly but I did get a top there with a really cute print. They're cheap too- the top cost me only $6.
Cheap, good quality (brand names), reliable, $5 shipping.
I generally find a brand and style I love then I do an online search for them. I'm *really* loving Peaches mock wrap tops, and their petite pants that fit perfectly!! By searching for the brand and style you're more likely to find them on sale or cheaper than if you just go to certain sites.
Soooo....I go to the local uniform stores and try on, then I go online to buy UNLESS the store has a superduper sale going on.
Now shoes....a whole different animal! I'll spend the big bucks on nursing shoes because they really make a difference in how my feet and legs feel after a 12 hour shift!
I also tend to go sedate with my scrubs and WILD with my shoes :clpty:
I usually buy mine from Working Gear or one of the local uniform stores, one in particular offers discounts to workers from the hospital I work at and for the nursing school I attend. I usually don't buy them online because I am a larger size and I am a guy so I need to make sure they fit correctly and each brand is a different size for me. Good luck and if you buy in person ask the store if they offer discounts for where you work or go to school!

Depends on what kinds of stores are in the area you live in. Around here (Chicago area), there are a number of uniform stores. They carry different brands (with varying quality) of scrubs. Also, some department stores have them. I originally purchased scrubs (I'm male, but got unisex scrubs) at a JCPenney outlet. If you look online at JCPenney.com or Sears.com, you may find they carry scrubs online and then you can call to see if they carry them in local stores. Don't know about the other chains such as Target. As I said, I don't know what is available where you live.
But I would look for uniform stores first --- yellow pages. I like online too, but if you feel you will have difficulty fitting and need to try in person, then check brick and mortar stores close to you. You may have to drive and do a field trip.
Thanks :) Excellent point about the shoes. In clinicals I got by with all white cheapos but tomm in orientation I'm going to make sure that when the DON said "wear whatever you want" in the interview, she won't mind me showing up in some great shiny blue New Balance. I love those shoes!
I love them, too! My best advice, though, is have several pairs of shoes that you rotate. I found that helps a lot! You can also find some decent ABI* shoes on Ebay I bought several really cool pairs of decorated Danskos there.
*ABI=already broken in

I've got some uniforms but before I go out shopping for new ones, anyone have any favorite places to get them? The ones at walmart do not look like they will last a long time and I really don't like the material. Any help is greatly app. Thanks :)
