Most ADN programs are not online...plus in my area..the hospitals are only hiring BSN nurses..so I would take most of your pre-req online..except for A&P of course and apply to a BSN program..if you already have a BS then are more options..university of Wisconsin has an accelerated BSN online program...its a yr..but expensive..hope this helps..

I have not heard of any ADN programs being online as this is where you get your hands on clinical experience.

No matter what route you go (ADN, non-nursing bachelors to BSN, direct BSN, LVN/LPN), there are tons and tons of clinical hours that you have to do. If you are seeking online study because you can't currently leave the house, then nursing will be a difficult route. I have heard of a few newer programs in certain states that are doing online school for initial RN licensure, but there is still tons of clinical hours. No matter what way you go, you will have to plan on spending a lot of time in hospitals/clinics/nursing homes/etc. Unfortunately, due to the nature and complexity of the work, nursing is just one of those professions you simply can't do totally online.

Ther is no such thing as a totally online entry to practice program with no on site clinical requirement. You may be able to complete many of your co-requisites/pre-requisites in an online or distance format. Even many of the labs have ways you can complete at home buy purchasing a lab kit (yes with preserved animal to dissect and/or microorganisms for you to culture and study under a microscope). You should be able to compete non nursing classes such as English, Literature psychology (often both general and developmental), ethics, sociology, math/statistics, history, humanities, microbiology, anatomy &physiology, arts, etc. some schools offer the classroom portion online and you have to meet once or twice a week for an all day clinical experience at a facility concurrent with the classroom.
It can take a few years to complete the pre-requisite classes so that may be a good starting point. There is no way to complete a full course in nursing entry-to-practice for initial licensure without ever leaving your home. It would never be approved by a board of nursing.
Good luck.

I did a hybrid program to get my RN at the local community college but you were required to have a bachelors in another field already. We did lecture online and we did clinicals at the local hospitals. I think Chamberlain has a hybrid ADN but it is expensive and not offered at all of the branches.

Yes Chamberlain is super expensive. I sat with an admissions counselor and when they told me how expensive it was, I got my behind out of there quick. Their program is ideal though. If I could afford it, I'd be there now.
