BEST NYCLEX Prep courses

Published

What are the best NYCLEX prep courses to buy? There are many online to choose from and I am very confused. I want to buy this as a gift for my daughter. She is doing very well in school but seems to struggle on her ATI tests. What about the Kaplan? I am looking for LPN NYCLEX PREP courses.

Thank-you.

No problem. GET thee to Amazon, and get Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX RN. Read it from cover to cover, do the questions as they come up, and review your answers.

Take the CD and don't use "test" mode, use "REVIEW" mode. Select ALL of the questions, and begin (the software on this disk, unlike others, will let you resume where you left off when you quit) as you answer the question (in review mode) it will give you the correct answer (if you chose wrong) along with the rationale. Even if you choose correctly, READ THE RATIONALE for the answer -the NCLEX is not a test of knowledge, but of thought processes. You passed school, so you KNOW the stuff. Now you need to THINK CORRECTLY to get past this.

I tried Kaplans, as well as another book. I failed at 264 questions (one short of the max) -I was an A-B student. I was devestated. I picked up this book and did exactly what I just wrote, and passed with 75 questions (minimum required) -AND the Florida BON had JUST raised the pass requirements on the NCLEX a month previously -it was a piece of cake after the book -I even left the facility without a doubt that I'd passed it.

I've told the same to more first-time failed candidates than I can recall, and each and every one of 'em has told me (afterward) that they passed after doing this. It really is that good of a book.

Kaplan classroom review course worked for me! (That sounds like the commercial "Hooked on Phonics worked for me"). My immediate study buddies and I had about 6-10 different review books but I believe that the way the classroom instructors taught us was by far the best way to go. I passed with 75 questions and knew that I had passed.

I agree 100%. I took Kaplan and passed with 75 questions also. Don't buy all different books it will just confuse you. Just stay with the one you get from Kaplan. Good luck.

I used Saunders Comprehensive Review throughout school and it was very helpful. I also took the Kaplan review course after I graduated. I preferred Saunders.

I am not sure if you are looking for a class, but My nursing class and I all took the Hurst Review course (4 days of in class ), but I also think they have online stuff too, and all but one of the girls in my class that took it passed the NCLEX-RN on the first try.

I also know that many of us bought a few different books (I like Saunders) and did a boat load of practice questions..

hope that helps..
