I have bought several NCLEX books, and they seem to be a really big help. I use Saunder's and the Incredibly Easy Series. Just wondering what those of you have taken the NCLEX think are the best books?

I recently passed the NCLEX RN on NOV. 18th 2009. I used Saunders, Incredibly Easy, and Kaplan books...I did a Kaplan Qbank....it really helped. It was set up just like NCLEX...with nothing but questions, answers, and rationales. It was 300 dollars though......It's well worth the money. You get over 1000 questions for 3 months, and you can access it online whenever. I did atleast 200 questions a day until I used up all the questions. I took a HURST review too...It was helpful.

The Kaplan online course and text is all you probably need. The Kaplan strategies tells you step by step how to go about answering NCLEX questions (It almost seems as if the people who write the NCLEX questions are associated with kaplan):
Anyway, The Kaplan course provides you with a Question Bank (QBank) of over 1000 questions I think, plus there are about 7 question trainers, a diagnostic test and a readiness test. The online classes go through step by step how to approach certain types of questions, it almost feels like a formula for answering questions.
I'm not saying that Saunders and other books are not good, but I bought about three different NCLEX book and to tell the truth, just ended up not using them, because I was told that paying the $418 for the Kaplan online course was all I needed. When you pay for the course you get a kaplan text book as well that has pretty much everything that may possibly be asked on the NCLEX.
All of the students in my class used kaplan and so far we have a 100% NCLEX pass rate, with only two students remaining to take the exam.
Best wishes

I am soooooo glad that I found this thread because I am in the process of submitting paperwork in my state for taking the NCLEX and I was wondering which textbook was the best. I ordered the Saunders Blue Comprehensive series 4th edition because I had the 3rd edition which is kinda of old..... I just recently took my EXIT HESI from my school and passed with 99.1 % but I hear from alot of people that NCLEX is different? but anyway I will indeed start preparing... I also hear kaplan is great and they help you break down each question.....

I used Suzanne's plan, which suggested only using Saunders. I used the book and did tons of practice questions from the CD. I passed the NCLEX-RN the first time last Thursday. I've heard others say Kaplan is really good too. If had failed I would have gotten a Kaplan book.
