Hi, I will be starting clinicals on June 2nd and I was wondering what pocket dictionary I should buy?? I am also going to get a pocket guide for clinicals, and a pocket drug book. This seems like a lot to be carrying around to me. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks so much!

In my Lpn program all our books were provided, the medical dictionary we got is called mosby's pocket dictinary of medicine, nursing and health profesions, then we have a handy little cute spiral fo clincals called mosby's PDQ for LPNand it contains every thing you need to know for clincals and I mean everything, weight conversions temp tables, geriatric- peds info from beginning to end, proedures, IV info all that good stuff it is litte but very thick lol...........and also there is one similar to that one called LPN facts made incredibly easy you can get it on amazon.com it is also a spiral for clinicals with all the info we need. Good luck
Wow you are lucky to get all that from your school! We are not provided with anything!! But I will check into to mosby's pocket one.I just bought a pocket drug guide & a pocket lpn clinical note guide. Thanks for your response & I'm totally jealous of your program!!!

I'm just curious, what do you want the pocket dictionary for? Most likely you won't have room to carry it or time to use it during clinicals or class. If you have the extra money to spend on books, get a good full-size dictionary with illustrations. For clinicals I would recommend a full-size drug book and pocket clinical guide.
Good luck in school. I just finished the Practical Nursing program in May and I take NCLEX on July 7.

Yea, I was about to say I saw one the other day at Walden Books a.k.a. Borders. They are so little and cute. Now that I know I am in the program, I think I might invest!!
