Hello all! Happy Tuesday ?
I am an ACNP student and I was wondering if any NPs could give me recommendations on which medical app to use to aid in patient diagnosis/management? Currently, I am between Epocrates and Up-To-Date.
Any advice is appreciated!

Imo the fastest and most concise I've used in a clinical environment is 5 minute clinical consult. I like up to date, but find you can get too into the weeds when you need something quick. I wish I had 5mcc when in school. Would have saved a lot of time in some cases.
Thanks @djmatte. I will check it out!

Totally agree with 5 minute clinical. used it today! It's very helpful with quickly finding diagnostic work up and first and 2nd line abx options for specific conditions.
For instance, I had someone come in with concerns they have sgjoren's syndrome and wanting blood work. Honestly had no clue about what labs to order. With this app, had the test ordered in no time flat. It's concise, but I always find it to match up with guidelines /recommendations in up to date when I have compared.

uptodate app
visualdx - helpful for building unusual ddx, use this when i'm stumped
"journal club" for landmark studies - like a $5 one time purchase and use it frequently to look up research
for abx - sanford guide app. i use this for abx coverage and alternatives with allergies

For in-patient Medicine, I like the Hospitalist Handbook. I do work with the contributors of this handbook but I have no financial interest in it.

5 minute consult for sure! nice organized to find needed information
5 minute clinical consult (the app, not the book) Up to date is great but it is time consuming and hard to muddle through.

Hello,
Can someone confirm whether 5 Minute Clinical Consult by Unbound Medicine is the product being recommended? There are a few similarly-named apps in the App Store.
Thank you!

not sure about the app, but I went online and went through their website to purchase the subscription. as you said, there were too many confusing apps to choose from.
