Best Books for improving Test Taking Skills & Critical Thinking?

I am a first semester Nursing Student. I need help with test taking skills and in developing critical thinking abilities.

Please share the best book titles and authors you know of, or if there are is any other resource you can think of.

Fundamentals Success: A Course Review Applying Critical Thinking to Test Taking (Davis's Success Series):yeah:

This book is the best, in fact all of my nursing instructors recommend this book to everyone in the nursing program.

Thanks everyone. What is the benefit of these books? Simply the practice questions and rationales or do they help with strategies as well? I ask because I can get practice questions on rationales online for free. Thanks again.

Critical thinking is a deeper skill that you may not be able to get from a test-taking book. The only reason that I like the test taking books is that they help me to read the questions so that I can determine what is being emphasized.

The test-taking books teach you how to read the question, understand what it is asking, weed out the obvious incorrect answers, and how to choose the best answer.

They only help you pass the tests. Critical thinking is a skill learned over time. There are books and websites that explain it, but it's like playing the piano - you can only get so far without practicing.

i would also add in funamentals reviews and rationals, it gives you an outline of important information as well as having questions. I have used all 3 of these books (fundamentals success, test success, and the reviews and rationals) they really do help with critical thinking and are great with questions - the bonus with the reviews and rationals is they have a outline of info also. highly suggest :)
