Does anyone know about BCC's entrance exam. I am seeing some mention it as NET and some refer to it as Accuplacer (sp?).
Just wondering how does one prepare.....looking for any suggestions on study guides / books.
Thanks in advance !
Hi Crissy, make sure you check that Ratemy professor.com website before choosing your classes. I took and suggest the following profs:
A&P I: Prof Benedict = A (saturdays)
A&P II: Prof Saleh = B+ (saturdays)
Sociology: Prof Behn = B+ (online)
General and Developmental Pyschology: Prof Wiater = A in both classes (online)
Chemistry: Prof Ramaydal = currenlty taking his (Hybrid class, half online, we go in for th labs)
All are decent Profs.
Also, the President of the school just dropped the required min GPA to a 2.5...which will mean more competition to get in.
Good Luck ! !
Oh wow thanks a lot - I "only" have to take - A&P I , A&P II, Chm 100, BIO 104 Microbiology. I am retaking my PSY 106 for a better grade and my Mat 032. Uhg. so much to do so little time before Oct. 1, 2009. Thanks so much for your reply.. I find though going back to school and having a clear set out goal in mind I have done far better than when I had attended straight out of HS. And If anyone who is in the Nursing Program can make a list of supplies one may need (ie. stethescope, PDA, etc. etc.) I have put in extra hours at work now while I am not in school in order to save for such things.. I'd like to know what I'll be saving for so I have a clearer goal set thanks so much love you guys ^ ^
Hello all. I am currently in the evening nursing program at Bergen Community College and also served as a past BCC President of the Student Nursing Association. I will be graduating next week but have no problem whatsoever answering any questions that I can.
For those wondering about the Accuplacer exam.....it is not that hard. Basic algebra and english. What gets most people is the essay. Know how to write one (beginning, middle, and end summary with appropriate content in each- grammer and punctuation do count) and be prepared for any off the wall topic (mine was "If you could be anyone for a day, who would it be and why?").
The program is extremely competitive (when I enrolled, something like 800 people we're turned down) and is extremely grueling once you enter it. If anyone has any questions just feel free to ask.

Health insurance, student nurse malpractice insurance, and CPR (but not regular CPR, through the Red Cross it is called Professional Rescuer) are all required once you enter the nursing program.
I am not in the evening program, so I am not sure of the hours, but I am sure you can find that information either online or in the catalog.
Good luck to you.
