Bergen Community College Nursing Program Question

Published

Last Thursday I was at the college for the purpose of collecting my Chemistry grade with some classmates. Apparently, there was a graduation ceremony for RN's going on that night as well, and my friends started talking to one student to ask her about the program. I didn't hear the entire conversation, but one of my cohorts told me the student had stated that ELEVEN people had failed out of NUR-181 alone during her course!

Now, there's always a chance there was some sort of misunderstanding or miscommunication, but does this sound right? For what it's worth, I would think the application process and competitiveness of getting in to the program would assure a strong student population, so it makes me nervous to hear these things. I already received some insight from someone privately, but I was wondering what the public population made of this info.

Thanks!

Hi guys... well I didn't get in. I scored an 88.25 on my HESI and have a 4.0 GPA at bergen. This really sucks. Can I ask if anyone scored under an 88 and got in?

Hey I'm sorry to hear that. I got a 86.77 on the test btw and I got accepted

Hey guys im still waiting to hear im hoping ill get a letter monday... I got an 88 on the hesi so im deff thinkin i didnt get in ill let u all kno congrats to all who got in n heads up to those that didnt

I'd go to the health professions office on Monday.

I think i will... Did you all get your letters?

Rpatel, thanks for sharing with me. Did you score really low on any section? The lowest I scored was a 72 on Biology. I haven't taken Biology in 15 years.

Also, Congrats to everyone who got in! :) Good luck in the program.

I got my letter yesterday.

Eileen17a, my lowest was 78 which was vocabulary. I got 82.61 in reading, a 94 in grammar, 86 in math and 92 in chem& bio which at the end I ended with 86.77

maybe it was my 72 in bio that caused me not to get in. I got a 80 in chem, a 94 in reading comp, a 88 in vocab, a 98 in math a 98 in grammer. Thanks so much for sharing. I just dont get how this whole thing works. Good luck in the fall :)

No problem & thank you! Hope everything works out. I hear last year they had a waiting list and this year they don't. But you never know if you go to the office and ask

I wouldnt loose hope, I am sure there will be people who either can't make and decline etc etc So if people decline then more spots open for those that almost made it in..my good friend also was declined and she scored just a few points lower than me.
