Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

U.S.A. Washington

Hello everyone,

I have just applied to Bellevue College for Fall 2012/Winter 2013 and I just want to hear from anyone who has also applied there. What are your TEAS scores? Do you guys know when we will hear back regarding acceptance/ rejection letters? Is Bellevue College your first choice or are you guys spreading out your applications to other schools?

Thanks hereshoping and goodluck to you all! :)

Has everyone completed the VA online training? I just finished and it took forever! For some reason, the page kept crashing and wouldn't save my progress. But at least it's finished. I also got the last of my books in the mail today!

Yes the VA training did take forever, but don't worry we have more training later in the quarter!

Can't believe it's almost time to get started! Sent my kids back to school this week, thinking, wow, only 2 weeks to go!! Everyone keeps asking me if I'm ready - I suppose I'm ready as I'll ever be!!!

Hope everyone had a chance to meet each other today. I know I briefly talked to at least one person who referenced this site. :) I felt more like I was autographing squares than getting to know people; but I'm sure we'll all be thick as thieves before we're done. :D

Again, if you would like access to my online notes send me a PM with your email address. I take notes in OneNote and I scan all the handouts and make them available so you will always have a backup "in the cloud". You will also have access to update and add to the notes I have online. If we get enough contributors I think this could be a really nice collaboration tool.

OneNote updates:

Added some notes on today's orientation.

Updated one student's name on the 'Clinical Rotations'.

Updated 'VA Computer Training Schedule' two students were moved from Wednesday 9/25 to Monday 10/15

Updated the Fall Calendar - added HESI Intro on 9/21

Thanks for the updates, Jeremy! I felt the same way - in a hurry to sign squares/get squares signed, and not really getting a chance to "meet" people. Oh well, you're right...we'll all know each other well by the time this is over!

Lisa mentioned that BC is working on implementing a Bachelor's program; do you recall whether she said when that would be in place? Was planning on going to UW Bothell, but if BC is going to offer it, well, might as well just stay there!

Do you think it might be easier if, once classes start, we get some sort of online closed group (FB/GooglePlus/something else) or just some sort of e-mail group to share class information? Just a thought....

Enjoy your last week before the insanity starts!

hereshoping, I think Lisa said the new BSN bridge would start Fall 2013. I was thinking of going to UWB as well, but if BC offers it, then I might as well.

Also, Jeremy, the site won't allow me to PM you for some reason, so I might just end up FBing you :cat:

I think once the program is done, I'll look into some Master's programs, since she recommended that if you already have a bachelor's in another field.

Sure! Everyone can FB me at /jeremymtrout or email me at jeremymtrout at gmail

Hi all, I don't know if I missed Lisa talking about our calendar but, I was hoping to clarify: is our 1st assignment due next Tue (9/25)? I'm doing the readings ("prerequisites"), but wasn't sure if the questions are also due on the date that the Module (Module 1, 2A, etc.) is listed on the calendar. Thanks so much in advance! Kristine, BC email is kelley26@...

Hi there! The assignments are reading you need to complete before we attend the lecture. I believe she said something briefly that the competency statements are not questions for you to answer literally. You should be able to answer those questions after the required reading and the lecture. Kind of like the learning objectives for a chapter in a textbook. To be honest, I think this all boils down to the educational accreditation of the course. The people who oversee the education of nurses have a laundry list of topics, skills, etc they want to make sure we learn about and what better/easier way to show you're teaching what is required to be taught than to list the criteria in the overview of your modules?

Just in time for back to school: Newegg.com has Microsoft Office Home and Student (3-user license) for only $89.99 with promo code EMCNAJF79 free shipping! It has Power Point, Word, Excel, and OneNote
