Being an alternate/declining admission to Stanislaus 2016? I need suggestions!

don't really understand what you are asking -- if you are an alternate then what exactly would you be declining admission to? Are you declining the alternate spot so that you wouldn't be considered at all or do they allow you to take nursing classes as an alternate but you aren't sure about this without full admission?

Tbh, I'm not too sure either. I'm really confused about how this works. The letter that I received did mention that if I don't have the opportunity to enroll in Fall 2016 (that I applied to) then I may want to reapply to the program next semester.

I think I understand what you are confused about. There is admission to the university itself, and then there is admission to the school of nursing. You were accepted to the university but you are an alternate with the school of nursing. The intent to enroll for the university along with the deposit is due by May 1st. Unfortunately, people on the alternate list with the SON can be called up to the night before the fall semester starts, so you do have to take into consideration where you are at on that list and what the prior years statistics are for alternates getting in.

I can't tell you what choice to make but I do suggest that you look into all the different options and routes to becoming a RN. This program is not the only program! I hope that helped!

Exactly, I'm glad you understood if there were any confusions! Unfortunately, I'm at #71 which means I will most likely not be called before the fall semester. Thank you for the encouragement!

I think you should definitely consider the financial aid implications. How would that impact future applications to their nursing program? You do not want to burn through all your financial aid just waiting to get into nursing and CSUs are tightening up on how many units students can take.
