and yes, you are correct. I am looking at it as a lifeline to get out of direct, hands on, patent care. NAILED IT
Then I would probably not pursue FNP. What would you be doing with a FNP except direct, hands-on to some degree, patient care? I think you've answered your own question. Can you shadow or "interview" one of the administrative individuals? That might give you a good idea of what their position entails.
I work as a school nurse. In my location, we're fortunate to have an RN at every school. Even though I am the only nurse on campus, I love my job. I was so burned out from hospital work and doctor's arrogance that I was regretting my decision to even become a nurse. Although it's not always sunshine and rainbows, I am happy and look forward to going in to work every day. Have you thought about maybe school nursing?

Okay I need some serious help guys. I am crashing and burning and not sure with what I want to do...
I am currently a bedside RN of 4 years at a good hospital. I work in the Rehab/In patient/Med surg unit taking care of 5+ patients a day. (my background is tele nursing) However, I am burnt out and need a sign helping me towards a direction.
I want to do FNP, however, I don't want to take care of patients with that much responsibility. I am already stressed enough during my days of work that FNP doesn't sound appealing. Plus, schooling is just so intense, IDK if I can do that again. the money, however, sounds very appealing to me.
I also really want to get out of direct patient care and want to pursue a degree in Masters In HealthCare Administration. I don't know the first thing about the job options once I graduate, but I do know that Ill be working in a hospital or healthcare setting doing administration work, 5 days a week.
HELP. anybody, with an FNP or MHA. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you ahead of time.
