I feel the same way. I was upbeat and knew I would get a job. It's been over a year.....I will be doing seasonal immunization clinics shortly and am still looking.....It's very depressing. I have my up days and my down days....hopeful that something will turn up.
Sorry its been over a year for you. I continued to call... probably up to 40 calls by now and I did get three places that accept new grads so I'm now hopeful. Three places told me to come in and fill out applications so thats just what I'll do. Doesn't mean I'll get hired but I gotta start from so where.
I also contacted Genesis healthcare. Its a nationwide company that help place nurses. They even said they will send my info. to a nursing recruiter and yes they accept NEW GRADS !!!! So as of now I've contacted 6 places that hire new grads so tomorrow I plan on start placing applications at these facilities. I'll keep everyone updated.

I just decided this week ( after passing my boards) that I'll start applying for jobs as a nurse. Although I don't have my nursing license # yet, I still thought I'd give it a shot. Well in the pass hour in a half I received 19 " no new grads" and left 15 messages for various facilities. I actually had one that accepted new grad applications and another that just hired some new grads. I'm a firm believer that what God has for me its for me. I prayed that he would open just the right door. All I can do is apply and its either yay or nay. I just want to encourage all the new grads out there. I know its not easy... especially if you quit your job like me to survive nursing school. All new grads should hold their head up high and don't give up. I may get a thousand " no new grads" but I'm still going to keep calling and putting in applications until that door opens up.
Good luck to all us new grads and don't lose hope !
