I know dialysis nurses with an Associates degree and 2000 clinical hours can test for their CDN and nurse with a bachelors degree and 3000clinical hours can test for their CNN.

Does anyone know the pros to getting certified with DaVita? I know they pay for it if I pass. Will I get a merit increase or just another pin to put......wherever I put my other pins ?

Honestly do not think it will help salary. Specially at DaVita. When you go to acute care it may hold some weight.

It  makes very little difference in pay, but the satisfaction of having become certified can be priceless for some. Good luck.

Don't know about DaVita, but for Fresenius, it's a requirement for CAP 3 and above, which does garner a raise. They are still revamping the CAP program, not sure what the requirements will be.

DaVita doesn't pay extra for certification (CDN, CNN). I never heard that they will pay for the exam maybe they do now. It's nice to have for personal pride. If you're thinking about getting this to become a CC or FA, you don't need it -- if they're desperate and you have the qualifications, they'll grab you.

ETA: Fresenius CAP program changed, now required for level 4

I was going to do CNN, as I meet those requirements. Unfortunately, for CNN, you now must have 'x' amount of hours in more than 1 setting along with those requirements
