Published

hi there,

please help me.i am a registered nurse from nepal.i have done 3 year diploma in nursing.when I came here there were no any friend who could tell me the process so I applied through Tennessee board of nursing via cgfns and Tenessee board asked me for Ielts,Cgfns exam and nclex.I gave Ielts exam and passed too and then i gave Cgfns but I cudnt pass.m really worried I really wanted to be Rn in usa .its been 2years .its taking me long.right now I want to change my board but I don't know how to start as i have already started it from tennessee board.I have heard from some frens that Texas doesn't require Cgfns exam but m not sure about the class coz some state requires psychiatric class due to diploma nursing .I don't want to take any classes coz I have already wasted my time.please do suggest me which state board i should apply for ,where i have to pass only 1 exam i.e NCLEX.The other thing is if i change state board do i have to again send documents to my nursing school in nepal?how does the process go?is there any one who have done the same changing board thing?

There are only a small handful of states that require the CGFNS exam. Which state do you plan on living and working in?

Thank u so much for ur reply.we are planning to move to virginia after 7,8 months but it can change too if i find any state where i dont have to give cgfns and classes like mental health nursing as i am a 3 years diploma nurse.do u have any suggestion for me regarding which easy processing board should i apply for?

I suggest working out which state you plan on living and working in and see what requirements are plus searching on here to see if there are any issues.
