Become Medicaid/Medicare provider

Hello,

I am new here. I am in the process of planning my own business, either home care (private duty) or care manager (I just became aware of this title; is anyone familiar with it?). I read in an old post that a nurse became a Medicaid/Medicare provider and apparently was able to use those resources as sources of payment. Does anyone know how you become a M/M provider? And, how fast do you get your payments from them?

@sunrock, do you know what is currently the rate for an adult private duty care(rn) that medicaid would pay? And how long it usually take from the moment I send an application to getting my number so I could work.

N.y. 36.00, u can ask for an enhanced rate if, hr, ventilator, men txs., etc. That is rn rate. Lpn is 24.72. Children is 36.00 lpn and 52.00 rn until 22yrs.

Its taking Ohio 120 days to process PDN apps. Told mine will be done this week... Any other current providers here that dont work for an agency? Im ready, nervous and excited.. BLR/LPN :)

Can a Registered Nurse in any state apply for a NPI #? I am currently living in Tennessee and am having difficulty determining if I can get reimbursed like this here. If anyone has any information regarding this I would greatly appreciate it!

Hello. I have put my application in to be a private duty nurse as a Medicaid Provider in OH. I am told it is taking 90-120 days to get your Medicaid Provider ID number. If anyone has information that will be helpful/informational, I would appreciate it very much. It was good seeing other peoplethat are interested in this and hearing what they are saying! Thanks.

I'm a M/M provider in Wisconsin. Here our rate of pay is $21.xx/hr for an LPN, and $32.xx/hr for RN. Does anybody know what the rate of pay is in Illinois? I have looked all over and can't find a job board for Illinois patients.
