BCTC Fall 2015 RN program at Cooper Campus

Published

Hello fellow Nursing students! I am on the exciting yet terrifying journey of starting Nursing school this August. I was curious if there were any other students out there attending the ADN program this semester at BCTC on here so we could chat, get to know one another. We will be spending two years together and I'd like to get to know you all before we start this journey together! Its going to be challenging, but its a challenge that I am ecstatic about and can't wait to experience it with all of you!

Even if you're Starting the ADN program somewhere else in KY, comment so we can chat and suppress our nerves and share our excitement with one another!! 😜

Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to spend the next two years with you all completing our dreams!!! 😉

I passed my SRNA test! Thank God!! :)

Yay!! See you had nothing to worry about, congratulations! :)

Katrina Florea was my instructor, and I took it online with a proctored final exam. It has been much easier for me to do math courses online rather than in class.

I took it online this semester, obviously that didn't work out too well for me. I'm going to take an in person class this fall semester, and work my butt off to pass with an A or B. Hopefully taking it on campus will work out better for me.

I seem to always worry myself crazy and then everything turns out fine. I think my adrenaline gets so high from the anticipation of waiting it makes me anxious and nervous lol I'll learn to control that soon enough.

Thank you, I have to say, not making a passing grade in math might have been a blessing in disguise.. That way you can get all your core classes out of the way (that are scheduled into the RN program) and you'll be able to just take nursing courses when you start the program back up! I wish I had done that now looking at the 16credit hours I'll be taking for 4 semesters straight! Eeekk!

I understand, I'm like that too. Just remember worrying is like a rocking chair, it gets you no where in the end lol.

Oh my 16 credit hours! You can do it though!!:):) None of the core classes are really hard, just manage your time wisely between all of your classes. I took intro to art to fulfill my humanities requirement. The nursing success book, that the program requires has some good tips for time management etc. Yeah I've been thinking about that, I'll just have my nursing classes to take next year.

Could you get the rest of your core classes out of the way next summer? That way you could just focus on your nursing classes the last year.

I like that saying about the worrying.. :)

I can take care of my core classes in the summer. But that's the time I've usually allotted myself for clearing my mind and relaxing. Although I would have more time to relax if I got those classes taken care of before my final semester.. Hmmm... I'll have to think about that, it just seems like it would be tough taking a vacation with my family. Lots of pros and cons.

True, there are definitely pros and cons to either option. Getting the classes out of the way would be nice, but no summer vacation to relax and have fun.

Went to orientation and we basically went over the required books, immunizations, etc. What we'll be going over in the first few weeks of class and what we'll be doing on clinical days before we actually go to the clinical site.

The second year students that spoke to us and gave us advice scared me cause they said really try not to take other classes with your nursing courses. I'll be taking BIO 139, PSY 223 and NSG 101.. 16 credit hours.. I hope since I won't be working, that I'll be able to tackle the course load...

I'm getting nervous for Monday!! Excited but mainly nervous lol

I think you'll be fine since you're not working!! :) Now if you were working that would be a bad time. By the time you read this, you'll probably have one day of nursing school under your belt. Have a great day at nursing school!!!!!!! Let me know how the first day went.
