Hello fellow Nursing students! I am on the exciting yet terrifying journey of starting Nursing school this August. I was curious if there were any other students out there attending the ADN program this semester at BCTC on here so we could chat, get to know one another. We will be spending two years together and I'd like to get to know you all before we start this journey together! Its going to be challenging, but its a challenge that I am ecstatic about and can't wait to experience it with all of you!
Even if you're Starting the ADN program somewhere else in KY, comment so we can chat and suppress our nerves and share our excitement with one another!! 😜
Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to spend the next two years with you all completing our dreams!!! 😉
I don't bite! Don't be shy class of 2017! :)

Hi there!
I"m starting the nursing program at BCTC this fall also, I'm also super excited but super nervous at the same time. It's crazy we're gonna be starting nursing school in less than a month!
Right! Its such a weird feeling being nervous and excited for something! But I'm sure we will get the hang of it pretty quickly... I honestly can't wait for clinical! :)
Thank you for responding! I didn't think I was gonna get a response lol. What does your class schedule look like? I'll share mine later to see if we'll have class together, it's all jumbled over M-Th and then Friday clinical
Monday I have class 12-1:50
tuesday: 8-8:50
Wednesday: clinical
Thursday: 8-9:50 then 10-10:50
hopefully we have a class together :)
Here's my schedule
Monday- 11am-12:50pm (NSG 101)
Tuesday- 8am-1:45pm (BIO 139 & NSG 101)
Wednesday- 1pm-3pm (BIO 139 & NSG 101)
Thursday- 8am-9am & 12:30pm-1:45pm (BIO 139 & NSG 101)
Friday- 7am-5pm clinical
And I'm also taking PSY 223 online.
Do you possibly know when our background check and drug tests are due by?
Hopefully we do have class together at some point!
Our drug test and background check is due August 1st, crazy I know. I'm going to do my drug test this week along with my TB skin test.
I'm taking Bio 139 online in the fall, that's the only non nursing class I have left to take besides microbiology.
I think you'll enjoy Psy 223, it's an interesting class. Did you see that our orientation has been rescheduled?
Yes I did, I have been going to cooper for 4 years off and on and I have no clue where the auditorium is lol
Geeze..I guess I better go ahead and take my drug test this week. I just got my order in last night so hopefully processing for the background check and drug test will be done by the 1st.
My heads spinning with everything that has to be completed for the nursing program. Its crazy lol
I hope I do enjoy PSY223. I enjoyed my first psychology class online.
I'm nervous about BIO 139, BIO 137 was HARD for me, then again I was working full time as a caregiver for a dementia patient while taking the course, so that may be why, but I'm just hoping by not working during the program, that I'll be able to focus just on my grades.
I also hear that BIO139 is a lot easier because there's more physiology, I think that's another reason why I struggled with BIO137, is its more anatomically based. I hope that I'll be able to comprehend the physiology better than anatomy of the body
Oh I'll be lost too, I've never even been to the Cooper campus. Your background check should be processed by the first, I don't remember it taking too long.
I know! There is so much stuff to do, I don't even have all of my books yet or scrubs.
You should be able to focus more by not working. Bio 137 was ok, I hated the bone chapter blah. I'm sure everything in anatomy will make since once we start learning disease processes etc.
Oswald building (front building) Rm 230 is the auditorium. All the rooms are labeled pretty well so I don't think we'll have too much trouble finding it.
Do you know how many people applied and got into the program? Just wondering if we'll be a big class of 2017 or small. I hope it isn't too big, that's one reason why I'm at a community college, for the small classes! lol
That's good to know then! The RN program accepts 90 people each year, so that's not a lot but still a good number of students.
Do you know of anywhere to park that doesn't require the parking pass? Trying to avoid shelling out almost $300 for a parking pass:eek:
