  1. I think you'll be fine since you're not working!! :) Now if you were working that would be a bad time. By the time you read this, you'll probably have one day of nursing school under your belt. Have a great day at nursing school!!!!!!! Let me know how the first day went.
  2. True, there are definitely pros and cons to either option. Getting the classes out of the way would be nice, but no summer vacation to relax and have fun.
  3. Could you get the rest of your core classes out of the way next summer? That way you could just focus on your nursing classes the last year.
  4. I understand, I'm like that too. Just remember worrying is like a rocking chair, it gets you no where in the end lol. Oh my 16 credit hours! You can do it though!!:):) None of the core classes are really hard, just manage your time wisely between all of your classes. I took intro to art to fulfill my humanities requirement. The nursing success book, that the program requires has some good tips for time management etc. Yeah I've been thinking about that, I'll just have my nursing classes to take next year.
  5. I took it online this semester, obviously that didn't work out too well for me. I'm going to take an in person class this fall semester, and work my butt off to pass with an A or B. Hopefully taking it on campus will work out better for me.
  6. Yay!! See you had nothing to worry about, congratulations! :)
  7. What professor did you have for MAT 150? I'm considering retaking it to maintain my GPA. Getting an E in MAT 150 took it down to a 3.3.
  8. Aww thanks for the encouragement! :) MAT 150 is so hard, and none of the material is going to help you in med math. I wish they would offer an intro to dosage calculations class or something that would actually benefit pre-nursing students. I'm sure you passed your SRNA exam with flying colors girl! It's normal to freak out though, I was certain I had messed up some part of the skills portion. Let me know when you get your passing results in the mail. I haven't cried yet, I guess I'm still in shock. It's hard to process that I won't be going to nursing school this fall. At least next year I'll be prepared. I've already got scrubs, shoes, a stethoscope, and some books (hopefully they won't be outdated by then .) It just hurts that I was so close to being a nursing student, and this happens two weeks before class. Plus I've spent a pretty penny on the background check, drug test, TB skin test, and CPR class. Have fun at orientation! Come back and tell me how it was. I wish you all the best in your journey towards "Katieaok, ADN, RN!!" :)
  9. I live about 25 minutes away from Lexington. However, I come baring bad news. I had my college algebra final today, and I didn't pass with a C which the program requires. I'm in a state of shock honestly, I worked so hard to get into the program and now it doesn't even matter. It's embarrassing too, you tell everyone you're going to nursing school in the fall and turns out you're not. This semester I guess I'll take Bio 139, and MA 111. Now I'm worried about my chances of getting back in again next fall, I'll probably retake the NLN-PAX to see if I can get a higher score. To make things worse, my scrubs arrived in the mail today . In the mean time, I'm going to start applying for CNA jobs.
  10. I know right! The stress just keeps mounting as we get closer to the 17th. Don't worry about the state test results, I'm sure you did great :)! I understand though, I was so nervous about my results especially the skills portion.
  11. Hmm thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into that. I'm trying to save money anyway I can. Oh wow!! I just noticed all my spelling/grammar mistakes in this thread, super embarrassing:eek:.
  12. I feel ya, textbooks are uber expensive. I've only gotten two of my required textbooks. I had been trying to purchase a book every paycheck but something always comes up.
  13. Do you know of anywhere to park that doesn't require the parking pass? Trying to avoid shelling out almost $300 for a parking pass:eek:
  14. That's good to know then! The RN program accepts 90 people each year, so that's not a lot but still a good number of students.
  15. Oh I'll be lost too, I've never even been to the Cooper campus. Your background check should be processed by the first, I don't remember it taking too long. I know! There is so much stuff to do, I don't even have all of my books yet or scrubs. You should be able to focus more by not working. Bio 137 was ok, I hated the bone chapter blah. I'm sure everything in anatomy will make since once we start learning disease processes etc.
