Hello fellow Nursing students! I am on the exciting yet terrifying journey of starting Nursing school this August. I was curious if there were any other students out there attending the ADN program this semester at BCTC on here so we could chat, get to know one another. We will be spending two years together and I'd like to get to know you all before we start this journey together! Its going to be challenging, but its a challenge that I am ecstatic about and can't wait to experience it with all of you!
Even if you're Starting the ADN program somewhere else in KY, comment so we can chat and suppress our nerves and share our excitement with one another!! 😜
Good luck to everyone and I can't wait to spend the next two years with you all completing our dreams!!! 😉
Yes there's a parking garage across the Back side of cooper campus. It'll cost minimally to park there but it still might be cheaper than buying a parking pass. I'm going to be at campus 4-5 days a week so being close to the main building was a must for me so I got a pass. Might not be worth it if I were going 1-2 times a week.
Hmm thanks for the suggestion, I'll look into that. I'm trying to save money anyway I can. Oh wow!! I just noticed all my spelling/grammar mistakes in this thread, super embarrassing:eek:.
I find myself becoming more and more anxious every day closer we get to starting the program! I'm still waiting for my SRNA test results. If I don't get certified than I won't be able to start the program I don't think. If I am then I should be good to go when the program starts! I find out by the 10th... I'm getting nervous :/
I'm positive I passed. Its just taking so long for results to get back it makes me question my performance on the written and skills test.

I know right! The stress just keeps mounting as we get closer to the 17th. Don't worry about the state test results, I'm sure you did great :)! I understand though, I was so nervous about my results especially the skills portion.
Other states it seems like they get there results immediately or a week at max. Its torture waiting this long lol then again I said the same thing about the nursing program and here I am! LolIf you don't mind sharing, do you live in lexington?
I live about 25 minutes away from Lexington. However, I come baring bad news. I had my college algebra final today, and I didn't pass with a C which the program requires. I'm in a state of shock honestly, I worked so hard to get into the program and now it doesn't even matter. It's embarrassing too, you tell everyone you're going to nursing school in the fall and turns out you're not.
This semester I guess I'll take Bio 139, and MA 111. Now I'm worried about my chances of getting back in again next fall, I'll probably retake the NLN-PAX to see if I can get a higher score. To make things worse, my scrubs arrived in the mail today . In the mean time, I'm going to start applying for CNA jobs.
Disneygal I'm so sorry (... I felt your pain earlier this year after I was accepted into the program and received a D+ (one point under a C) in anatomy and right at a C with a fraction of a point rounding it up to a C in mat 150. I was in tears.... Thank god for an understanding instructor, he ended up curving my grade, which was against his policy, because I explained to him my situation at work wasn't ideal and it was negatively effecting my home and school work... I cried again but this time because of relief.. I again am close to feeling your pain. My SRNA results come Monday or shortly after and I have EVERYTHING done in order to start the program, if I am not certified I too won't be starting the program, and its scary.
But, in my past I've learned that things do actually happen for a reason, I learned this after going through some pretty harsh situations and rising out of them stronger.
You'll have no problem I'm sure, getting back into the program. If you got in once, I'm sure they'll be just as impressed with your credentials in a few months, in the mean time keep working hard :) and keep your head up... You have everything you need done, done for when you do make it back into the program girl so just relax and everything will work out how its supposed to.
Xoxo
Aww thanks for the encouragement! :) MAT 150 is so hard, and none of the material is going to help you in med math. I wish they would offer an intro to dosage calculations class or something that would actually benefit pre-nursing students. I'm sure you passed your SRNA exam with flying colors girl! It's normal to freak out though, I was certain I had messed up some part of the skills portion. Let me know when you get your passing results in the mail.
I haven't cried yet, I guess I'm still in shock. It's hard to process that I won't be going to nursing school this fall. At least next year I'll be prepared. I've already got scrubs, shoes, a stethoscope, and some books (hopefully they won't be outdated by then .) It just hurts that I was so close to being a nursing student, and this happens two weeks before class. Plus I've spent a pretty penny on the background check, drug test, TB skin test, and CPR class.
Have fun at orientation! Come back and tell me how it was. I wish you all the best in your journey towards "Katieaok, ADN, RN!!" :)
What professor did you have for MAT 150? I'm reconsidering retaking it to maintain my GPA. Getting an E in MAT 150 took it down to a 3.3.
Katrina Florea was my instructor, and I took it online with a proctored final exam. It has been much easier for me to do math courses online rather than in class.
