BCIT September 2017 Intake

Published

Hey everyone. I've seen some threads from previous intakes, but none for this upcoming one, so I thought I'd make my own.. and hopefully receive some responses.

Just wondering how many of you have applied already? And with what GPA, prior education (# of credits, past degrees), and work/volunteer hours or experience you are applying with.

Also what grades have you gotten in the pre-reqs?

I myself have got 35 credits at SFU with a 3.14 GPA..

I've been volunteering at a care home for a few months now.

My grades:

Chem 11 - 96%

Pre Calc 12 - 77%

ENGL 1177 - B

Anatomy and Physiology (1) - A-

Anatomy and Physiology (2) - B+

Psychology - A

For general education I got A's in both classes.

I just thought it would be helpful to see what others are applying with, so we can get a sense of our own standing and where we need to improve on. I hope in this thread we can all exchange tips and get to know eachother incase we do all end up going to BCIT together :)

I just opened a word document and wrote out my answers in there and then copy and pasted into the word box. The quiz is fairly easy, only 4 interview style questions and you have 90 minutes.

Hi all,

I just wrote my quiz! Best of luck to everyone else who is!!

Do you know if moving forward they only look at your quiz answers and if that alone determines whether or not you get in?

I guess they will look at all of them. I just did my quiz. I wrote my examples ahead after I had read the requisite skills on the website. We may all have the skills illustrated in the questionnaire but not all of us realize them and are able to use it for our own good like metacognitive skills. Even though I wrote ahead I still need to edit it to make the content relate to the question. 90 minutes is actually pretty tight for perfectionist.

I finally did that quiz, it went ok I think! Now we wait... Again. We find out by the end of April right?

Just submitted the quiz like many of you. I wonder how admissions decides which responses are graded higher than other? Cause I'm sure each of us have demonstrated all those qualities in some way. Does anyone know how the initial application, grades, and now this quiz factor into the acceptance/rejection?

Any reply is appreciated! Crossing our fingers we hear back soon!

Does anyone know how many people they take in from the shortlist? I know we'll hear back from admissions by April 30th, but the wait is driving me nuts!

i think its approx 180 shorlisted, and then approx 90 seats!

I emailed BCIT and they said that 180 applicants were short listed for 96 seats available! Good luck to all of us :)

I'm so nervous lol I hate waiting ..

good luck everyone

Today marks 3 weeks until April 30!! Hopefully we find out sooner though!! :D

Good luck to everyone! The wait is killing me!

Hey has anyone heard from them yet? Ughh the wait í ½í¸ I keep checking my email at least 5 times a day .í ½í¸°
