Published

Hey everyone, now that offers have been given for January/April 2019 intakes, mind as well fire up a new discussion for the September 2019 intake.

Anyone else planning to take the LIBS courses prior to applying?

From what I know, the application process is the same with the addition of CASPer. From what my friend has told me (friend did CASPer for a different program in the UK) CASPer is essentially MMI's where you go on webcam with the evaluator and you basically do what you would do in an MMI. Presented with a question/scenario where you have a given amount of time to read and think before you have to answer it in a given amount of time. I believe you type up the answer and the answer does not have to be long, so long it answers the question.

Otherwise, everything else looks the same for the application.

Hope this helps!

Thank you so much!! That's good to know. ?

Has anyone from the waitlist heard back yet? Starting to get antsy!

Nothing yet, it still just says "waitlisted" ? I check multiple times a day and its driving me a bit crazy! But I think we might start hearing back starting this Friday since (unless I'm wrong and I could be) that marks the end of the 2 week period in which all students who have been offered seat must pay the fee to secure their seat in the program. Fingers crossed for some good news coming our way! ?

Mine is April 19th. They must have a few deadlines.

I have April 19th too! Maybe it depends on when you received conditional acceptance.

Good luck to everyone on the waitlist! Keep us updated!!

Hey everyone, I was on the waitlist but I was offered a spot yesterday. I'm leaning towards Langara at the moment so the spot will most likely be going down the waitlist. I was wondering if anyone here was choosing BCIT over Langara? BCIT used to be my first choice but I've been hearing better things about Langara lately.

I would be going with Langara if I didn't have that situation where my human anatomy courses don't transfer over properly for Langara. All I know is that Langara appears to have a better program for nursing from what I hear, but lately the comments have been fairly subjective.

Before submitting the question for others to answer in this thread, I was also indecisive. However, I think it's safe to say that Langara is currently the better school to go to if you want to have a slight advantage when put into clinical. BCIT is still more well known; I posted a question on whether I should go to Langara or BCIT on my social media and over 2/3rds of my friends had voted for BCIT. But they don't know the insider scoops so I instead relied heavily on what my nursing friends had informed me and I've made the decision to head to Langara!

Only benefit I can see that BCIT has over Langara is it's cheaper cost and potentially closer to where you live(?). Weigh what is more important for yourself! ?

Did anybody on the waitlist here get offered a spot?

i haven't heard anything yet :(

Hi everyone! I'm planning to apply for April 2020 (1st time applying!) and I have some questions regarding the non-cognitive questionnaire and CASper questionnaire. Do you have any tips to prepare for either of them? What kind of questions are asked and what are they looking for? What's the difference between the two questionnaires? I understand that the non-cognitive questionnaire will be done once you've been shortlisted and CASper is for everyone to complete...any advice will be appreciated. Thanks everyone!!
