BCIT August 2014 Applicants

Published

Seeing as it's almost time for the start of the August 2014 intake applications, I figured it apt to start this thread now. :D

This will be my second time applying (applied previously for august 2013).

Currently working on finish my second A&P course and will be finishing my undergraduate degree next semester!

Let the waiting begin~ :)

Got a message in the myCommunications page for waitlisted applicants. Basically saying if a seat opens up for us 60+ days prior to program start (aug 18), you'll be emailed via myCommunications. If it is less than 60 days before the program starts, then we will get a phone call.

I wonder if they have started ranking the waitlist yet

Hi chiseen, did they actually tell you that they didn't start ranking the waitlist yet? I was under the impression that it's probably already ranked, but that they wouldn't be informing us our place on the waitlist.

Yes. I asked and was told on Friday that they haven't ranked the list yet. Maybe they will have it ranked by this week I assume.

Hi chiseen, any luck finding out what number you are on the waitlist? Did you call previously? Cuz when I called they said I had to email the nursing department so I just tried that lol. I also want to try asking whether we could find out how we did on our questionnaire/ if they marked it by points. I'm sort of leaning towards wanting to start in January anyways since I finish my degree this august and my final would be the week before the program starts lol.

I've always e-mailed them as there's no direct phone number to call that I know of.

I'm planning on contacting them some time next week to inquire about my status.

If you get a reply from them, please let me know if they were willing to share your ranking.

Hm, that would be a bit of a rush for you to start immediately after finals. No time to take a breather!

Hi everyone! on myBCIT I noticed that it has finally posted our tuition fees (I got a different number when I calculated it myself though). That means that we have been registered for classes! I know we've been told not to follow the schedule posted on myBCIT, but I can't help but be excited :)

Hey stephara!! Very exciting stuff! Apparently we are not to follow the schedule on my bcit since they post everything on the bcit d2l website! We probably won't find out till closer to starting I'm assuming!?! Have you purchased any books yet? Are u going to buy the "not required but recommended" books?

Im so excited guys!!!!!!! Has anyone else started reading the pre readings yet??? Stephara where did you go to look up the tuition????

Yeah apparently we won't be given our schedules until the first day of classes :( I've purchased some of the books, including the assessment one so I could start with the pre-reading. I'm thinking about getting the recommended Nursing Care Plans book because apparently its super helpful.

And shellbar, the tuition is listed in myBCIT if you click on "registration" and then "pay tuition". Did you guys come up with the same number as the one posted there?

I went in and paid in person and it worked out to be the same amount that is on my bcit! I need to get my book so I can start the pre reading!

Cool thanks...does anyone know about the student aid loan and how and when we can apply

Shellbar, you should apply as soon as possible. It takes a few weeks to get your loan approved if you haven't applied recently. They started accepting application for 2014-2015 on June 2nd. I applied on the same day (june 2), and I handed in my fee deferral form the next day. My application was approved after 5 days because they already have my declaration form. Make sure you apply right away because the due date is coming up! :) oh and I think you also have to pay your commitment fee before they approve your fee deferral.

Have you guys already done the N95 fit test and CPR-HCP??
