March 28, 2019 - A triple Board certified University of Vermont Medical Center emergency nurse, Travis Beebe-Woodward, BSN, RN, CEN, CPEN, TCRN was awarded the 2019 Distinguished TCRN National Award at TraumaCon 2019, the Society of Trauma Nurses' annual conference, in Lexington, KY, this morning.

Every year, the Board of Certification for Emergency Nursing (BCEN ) shines a national spotlight on exemplary nurses and organizations who are committed to specialty certification and excellence in emergency nursing and who promote and advance the value of board certification. BCEN’s Distinguished Awards recognize one nurse exemplifying excellence in their emergency nursing specialty practice and who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to advocating for, supporting and promoting board certification for emergency nurses.

Introduced by BCEN in 2016, the Trauma Certified Registered Nurse (TCRN) is the first and only national board certification for nurses who demonstrate advanced knowledge, skill and clinical judgment across the trauma care continuum, from injury prevention and prehospital care to acute care to rehabilitation and reintegration into society. Held by nearly 4,000 registered nurses, the TCRN is a Magnet-accepted certification program.
