Air Hi all! I am creating this forum in hopes to connect with other pre-nursing student applying into BCC's program for fall of 2018! What other schools are you applying to? What are your grades and TEAS scores? Also, current students, if you have any advice or insight on the program?
Thanks! Can't wait to hear from you all.
Awww so cute. That is a lot but it will just motivate u even more hopefully. You're trying to make your dreams come true which will better your life and your growing family :) I have 3 kids..my youngest is 6 and just started full day school, so I made the jump to go back to school after being a stay at home mom for the last 13 Years! So I am definitely intimidated and have to gain my confidence back but I got through the bio degree so I'm hoping I'll be able to ease right back into it lol. My sister graduated bcc nursing in 2013 and she said a lot of her class was older and many had kids. I think we'll all face different challenges but if we want it bad enough we'll make it happen. Having a support system is the best thing and my sisters best advice! The biggest hurdle now is being accepted in to the program haha. Hope these weeks of waiting go by quick!!
I wouldn't be working either! I'd rather put my all into it and hopefully succeed but I'm lucky enough that my husband can support us. I'm sure it'll be hard once there's more school loans too but if we make it through and get a good job it will all have been worth it lol. I have a feeling the next month is going to creep by since we're all so anxious to find out if we're in. I hate waiting!
Hi everyone! Thanks for chiming in! Sorry I havent responded, life has been so busy, as I'm sure we can all relate too. I'm super excited and hope to see you all in the fall! Just a short time till we find out now. As for some of the questions, they don't look at your teas score, just pass or fail. I chose E-health as my first option, one of my best friends chose e-health and she said it was the best choice she made and the instructors were outstanding, for anyone who was unsure or nervous for choosing it. The only difference between the two is the Monday lecture! She said her e-health crew gets together on mondays and goes through the lectures together, which i thought was nice and helpful!
Good luck everyone!
Hi Kayleen, so happy to hear from u! I hear ya being busy, I need to clone myself sometimes lol. Thanks so much for the info on e-health that DEF made me feel better about my choice. It'd be awesome to already know someone else in it. Fingers crossed ahhh. Jamie, don't take my word on this, but someone in her 2nd year told me that they allowed her friend to switch from traditional to online during either the 2nd or 3rd semester, after a few people had failed or dropped out of the program. So maybe that's a possibility for you if u decided it wasn't working out for u. But either way study groups are definitely a must and we will all be mixed together for the Clinicals. That sounds like a great idea to meet for a few hours on the Mondays Kayleen, and I absorb things so much better in a small group than in a huge lecture my mind tends to drift off. I am getting so excited thinking about it I'm gonna be crushed if I don't make it in this year I really don't want to have to wait a whole extra year when all of my classes are completed and I'd just be 'wasting' the year. Trying to stay positive!! Thanks again for making this group Kayleen, it's helping being able to talk to people in the same boat! Hope everyone sticks around and maybe the ones of us who get in can meet sometime before or at orientation! :)
Aw Jamie I'm sending lots of positive thoughts, I really hope we all make it in. I think sometimes as much as we think we have it all figured out God has a diff plan/timing. That's what I will have to tell myself if I don't get accepted. It's so hard when u want something so bad and it's out of your control. All we can do now is hope and try to stay positive like u said. At least classes start this week so I'll be distracted by that while we wait to hear. Keep in touch everyone! :)
Hi Lisa! So happy to have another person in E-health as well, and I'm glad that we're all on the same boat. As for Jamie, i too know of people who have swapped from traditional to e-health after semester one. So high hopes for you all! My friend found out mid February last year and her degree works changed before she received her letter, so let's keep each other posted.
Best of luck with your upcoming semester, can't wait to hear all of your acceptances!!

That's so reassuring to hear, I'm praying I would be able to pick it up too. I have a previous biology degree but it's from forever ago. I will be keeping u in my thoughts I really hope this is your year!! I know how the money struggle goes it's so tough. It'd be fun to already know each other before the semester started! Please God let us all in!!
