BCC Nursing Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! Wanted to start a thread for those applying for Fall of 2017 at Bristol Community College! What other programs are you applying too? Traditional or eHealth? GPA and points? Can't wait to hear about everybody else. I've read all of the other years threads and I must say I'm so happy to finally be able to be involved in one! So excited for everybody! Can't wait to hear from you.

What was you GPA when you got accepted if you don't mind me asking?

The deadline for applications for BCC has always been Jan 5th. I've been taking classes at BCC for a while and it has always been the same deadline. Maybe they already had all the students they needed that met the criterias they look for and they were able to send out the acceptance letters early.

Natalie... I had a 3.6GPA... They really look at applicants who have completed everything that is required for the program, those are basically the people who get in first... and then they trickle down the list of other people... but if you recall the info session and what the women said about complete applications.... that everything they require had to be done by the application due date or you wouldn't be in the pool of applicants. I think they do this because of the competitive aspect of the program!

lol It has the 2013-2014 catalog on the bcc website. February 1st was the deadline prior to 2015 applicants. I know this because earlier today I went to look at how many classes I needed left for a nursing degree, quickly just typed in google Bcc nursing requirements & I almost had a heart attack when I saw feb 1st as the deadline. Afterwards I realized it was on the wrong year lol did you have any other classes to take other then the nursing courses the last time you were accepted?

Ahh okay that makes me feel a lot better..well to be honest I'll feel a lot better when the letter comes in the mail! but that eased my nerves. Ugh I just wanna know!! I've literally been stalking my poor mail lady all month lol

Oh... well I guess people were inpatient with the wait like us so they must put the deadline back a month lol... I applied with all my classes done. All my prereqs done and teas taken... I was only taking other electives to just continue and finish my Health Sciences degree...

Im nervous because I have all the pre req requirements done, but still need micro, elective and math. Which I plan to do all 3 this summer, but ofcourse they don't know that. lol don't want pending classes too get in the way of me getting in. Urrghhh

AshB111- With the exception of the first week of classes, for eHealth you are only required to be on campus for exams (Mondays) and maybe a random presentation here and there. You will get 12 hours of clinical per week, and they are any day Tuesday-Sunday...Some are two days for 6 hours or just one day for 12 hours (7-7). You won't know your clinical days until August and they don't take requests for days at all, unless its for religious or military reasons. Clinical for your first semester starts after about the first 6 weeks or so. For the first six weeks or so you are in the Lab learning skills. This is how it works currently, but things could change! Hope that helps, it can be a little confusing lol

Thanks for the info,do you know if people get accepted who still have some other degree requirements to take but have all the required pre-reqs done?

At a minimum in order to be considered you have to have had all of the following done by the time applications were due Jan 5th

  • High school diploma or a state-approved high school equivalency credential
  • High school Algebra I, equivalent or higher
  • High school Chemistry with lab, equivalent or higher
  • BIO 233 (Anatomy & Physiology 1) or equivalent
  • ENG 101 (English Composition 1), ENG 102 or degree in the discipline
  • PSY 101 (General Psychology) or higher
  • CSS 101 College Success Seminar
  • Applicants must achieve a total composite score of 50% or higher on the ATI TEAS Exam.

The rest of the requirements just have to be done before you graduate the nursing program.

Yes I have all that plus others, my application is complete and I meet all requirements. but didn't know if it would hurt my chances since I don't have everything done other than nursing courses since some people say they look for people who only need nursing classes left.
