BCC Nursing Fall 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hey guys! Wanted to start a thread for those applying for Fall of 2017 at Bristol Community College! What other programs are you applying too? Traditional or eHealth? GPA and points? Can't wait to hear about everybody else. I've read all of the other years threads and I must say I'm so happy to finally be able to be involved in one! So excited for everybody! Can't wait to hear from you.

BCC is the only program I applied to as well. It's extremely affordable and close to home and the new building is amazing.. I really hope I get in. I've been working at getting into this program for yearssss.

Some rejection letters went out?! That makes me feel good!! Well, Sucks for them but glad to know we made the cut so far. You look like your in a good spot I wouldn't worry!! You have a good GPA and all your classes being done will help!

I felt really good too hearing that! She said they went out over like the last week of January so that means they're probably making their final decisions right now.

I sure hope having everything done helps! I don't know what else I can do at this point besides cross my fingers.

I'm so happy I found this thread, because of the timing that I took my classes a lot of my friends got in last year or aren't apply until next year. I haven't had anyone to stress out about this with.

And of course best of luck to everyone here! I hope we all hear good news very soon!

I just keep trying to tell myself that stressing will only make it feel like longer of a wait, try to distract yourself, and stop worrying to much, regardless of your points, turning your GPA around is something to be proud of. Admissions will see that, and they will love that all your focus will be on nursing classs. You're going to get in! I'm sure of it!

Hey ladies!!!!

So I just had to call Admissions because I had a couple of questions about financial aid and.... I asked when we were going to be getting our acceptance letters and he said within the next two weeks we will have them!!! So wish it was today!!!!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi everyone! I'm in the same boat as all of you, applied (for the 2nd year in a row) and am waiting to hear something positive. I have 23-24? points I believe...but my Cum GPA is lower than I would like (1st attempts at college at 17 yrs old) because of old grades. I've brought it up quite a bit and finished a degree in health sciences in the mean time but I'm so worried. I wish they would not consider super old grades because it drags my cum down. I got a 70 on the teas and have a 3.88 but a 3.23 cum :( I am in micro now and it's the only class I have left. Really hoping to get into the ehealth program because it's the only one that seems feasible with a full-time job and kids... really hoping for positive news. I've been checking degree works with no change. Good luck to all of you! :) Sending positive vibes your way!

I think it is kind of unfair that they include previous grades too.. I feel like they should use only the grades from the courses that are required. I have a friend who had a previous degree but didn't have a GPA that was outstanding. Then he transferred to BCC and his GPA at BCC was like a 3.9, but then he sent in the application and they said with his old grades included he had like a 2.5 so he couldn't even be considered.. It's really not fair to those who get up and turn their grades around to be punished. But I'll be crossing my fingers for you. I'd like to think that if you have good points they will consider that over the GPA, but at the same time I have a good GPA but my points aren't so good. It's so stressful, I wish we could all get accepted!

thank you! I agree - really wish we could all get in. It's super frustrating for sure. And it's not even classes that are pre-req's. Those I have taken and gotten all A's -- not to mention the grades dragging me down are from 1999...and honestly I think BCC is one of the few that does it this way. Anyway just hoping I have a chance this year. I'm a veteran as well and I'm trying to get in before my GI Bill runs out of funds! I've spent the last two years bringing my GPA up, I just hope it's enough.

It definitely is one of the few schools that do this. I think in their defense it's just because the program is so good and affordable. At the information session they said they had something like 850 applicants last year, and only 96 seats available. So they have to find ways to weed people out of the group somehow even if it doesn't seem fair. But I'm wishing you the best of luck, it all just depends on the pool of people who applied this year. I can't wait to find out.

Blah I've been trying not to call them or look at my degree works, but I'm going to call admissions and see what they say haha >:)

What'd they say?!
