Making this thread for anyone who applied to the residency program that opened today. Good luck to everyone!

I got an offer from Texas Health and I believe it was $26.50. So that rate is pretty standard. They do differentials, of course. Plus a pay step program which incentives you with increases the longer you stay in the program. And performance based raises. I think the only hospital in the DFW metroplex that doesn’t pay that rate is Medical City. I believe they actually pay lower because you get a starting bonus + “training rate” which I think is around $17 or low 20s. Don’t 100% quote me on Medical City though, I was told that by a friend

Congrats on your offer! Where was it/unit? They've been pretty silent for the last couple of weeks so I was wondering when they were going to start interviews.

I got an offer from medical city and they pay 1000 every two weeks during your internship part which is a couple of months then they start paying you 25 ...which is still pretty low

Yeah, you get a starting bonus with Medical City, but I heard at one point that their pay just equals out with the surrounding DFW hospital base pay in the metroplex.

Thanks! I am in intalent applicant. I mainly signed up for downtown FW location. Got an interview for Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU and CVICU. Got an offer from CVICU. Just so you know if you applied for Trauma there’s only one position open. The remainder of the units told me that they were going to continue interviewing people as HR sends it to them.

Huh. I didn't even know they had apps for Trauma and CVICU. Their apps opened all at different times and I didn't know of it until the last day. Were the Neuro, Trauma, and CV applications all different, or did you just apply to a general ICU one? CV is awesome!

The way THR works is that they post applications for each unit & position that they have open. So once they get an x amount of applications for that position they automatically close it. So that’s why you have to apply the moment it opens or the location you want will already close. Especially for ICU. Neuro, Trauma and CV were all different applications so I applied separately to each one, but after your first application it just automatically fills out the data for you. Thank you! I really want to pursue CVICU when I graduate, that’s why I’m also interested in Baylor.

I see. I hope they respond soon then! How long of a notice did they give you between letting you know you have an interview and the actual date?

I got an email with the dates and times for interview around 2 weeks prior to the actual date. They’re only doing interviews via Microsoft Teams. I would allot 30 minutes but so far the max interview time was 15 minutes. For each unit you interview with, it’s the unit manger & supervisor. I mainly got behavioral questions. I only got nonbehavioral questions from one unit & it was easy prioritization questions. I interviewed on a Thursday and received an offer within 24 hours.
