Are there any new grads or RNs out there that have applied to Baylor's 2013 Winter internships? I thought I would start this so we can all share our tips, tricks and progress.
I applied to the Women's Services internship and was emailed a phone interview offer, scheduled for Tuesday!
I wanted your opinion though. Do you think you have a better chance at a job when you put "all your eggs in one basket" and make it clear that your heart is set on one area of nursing (ie. L&D, ER, ICU) or are you all applying for a whole bunch of areas of nursing and hoping for just whatever you get?
I also got a NICU job at Baylor Dallas! So we will be working together??
NICUGN2013:
Yes, I believe I start then also. I am already working in the Baylor system so I am know I won't have to go to on-boarding & will just have to do hospital orientation and then of course NICU orientation. I am extremely excited about this opportunity..it still feels very surreal that I am finally getting the opportunity to do this! I look forward to meeting with you in person..and congrats on getting this job also, did you recently graduate from nursing school?
Well I ended up getting hired on the postpartum unit at Baylor all saints! I'm really excited and I think it will be a good fit for me. Does anyone know how long the hospital orientation for Baylor is?
Waoh I am so happy for you, how did it happen? thought you were denied before.
well I have been called for an hiring fair in baylor Dallas after being rejected in baylor irving, I am really hoping this time I get it as for the 2nd time I had to fly into DFW for the interview.
Well I saw that they had just posted an opening in that unit so I emailed the nurse manager asking about the opening. I let her know I was very interested and she got in touch with the recruiter and I had an interview a few days later. The next day they called with an offer! I'm very excited, it's taken a long time to find a job here . I got my license in November 2011 and since I was having a hard time with my adn I went and finished my bsn and graduated in September.

I am so happy for you. I went for the interview today at Baylor Dallas and got offered the job on the spot. my first choice actually CVICU. I am a GN, my pinning is 2moro. writting the NCLEX next year.
I hear we all meet in baylor irving for 2 days orientation.
That's great RobinMRn! I'm so happy for you! Is it a nurse resident position? When is your start date? I was told I would hear something from the hospital by 12/21 about finishing the hiring process but I still haven't heard anything! I am starting to worry since I turned in my 2 weeks notice yesterday.
