Baylor January 2013 Internships

U.S.A. Texas

Are there any new grads or RNs out there that have applied to Baylor's 2013 Winter internships? I thought I would start this so we can all share our tips, tricks and progress.

I applied to the Women's Services internship and was emailed a phone interview offer, scheduled for Tuesday!

I wanted your opinion though. Do you think you have a better chance at a job when you put "all your eggs in one basket" and make it clear that your heart is set on one area of nursing (ie. L&D, ER, ICU) or are you all applying for a whole bunch of areas of nursing and hoping for just whatever you get?

I also applied! Haven't gotten a call yet though. Let us know how the phone interview goes! Good luck!

I also applied for the women's services internship and I have a phone interview scheduled for this week also! I'm really excited and hoping it goes well. Good luck to you too!

I also applied. I haven't heard anything, but my CVICU application will no longer let me withdraw the submission? My ICU rotation was in CVICU and my leadership in CV stepdown, so my whole resume is cardiac. I have an interview at UT Southwestern next week. I live in Memphis at the moment so I have to drive down. Anybody else interviewing at UTSW? GOOD LUCK TO US!!

I also applied for the women's services internship. Did you have any hospital experience as a tech or anything? Also, when did you hear back?

I worked in a nicu for a year as a student nurse. The email for the phone interview was sent on sept 20th. The phone interview went well, she verbally confirmed a lot of things on my application (ie. that I have a tx RN license, what my gpa was) and then asked about 4 behavioral questions. She said they were hiring 3 interns to L&D at All Saints and 2-3 interns at Baylor Irving (which was exciting news since the job posting only listed All Saints hiring in L&D). And that's about all I know! Where is everyone else in the process?

Congratulations on your interview! I applied but still waiting to hear back to see if I will get a phone interview. That is exciting about the positions at Baylor Irving! Did they say how many they were hiring in the other positions, like nursery, mother baby and NICU? Was this just a phone interview for L&D specifically? And I wonder if they are doing separate phone interviews for each of the hospitals? I know that the Facebook for the internships said there were 2000+ applications in total, but I wonder how many there were for women's services. It's starting to feel very overwhelming here in dfw!

I had experience as an LVN in pediatrics but no hospital experience. I thought the phone interview went pretty good too, the recruiter is really nice. Just waiting to hear about an in person interview, she said they would start in October. When did you guys graduate and are you bsn or adn? I got my associates in nursing in nov 2011 and I had a hard time finding a job in this area so I started a bsn program and just graduated. I am hoping the BSN will help me to find something :) Good luck to all of you, it is stressful finding a job in this area.

Have you guys heard anything new? I got a call back from the recruiter at Baylor to schedule an interview with the L&D manager. I'm really excited and hoping it goes well!

Congrats Robin!! I got a call today for an interview at Irving's L&D. Praying for the best!
