Baylor January 2013 Internships

U.S.A. Texas

Are there any new grads or RNs out there that have applied to Baylor's 2013 Winter internships? I thought I would start this so we can all share our tips, tricks and progress.

I applied to the Women's Services internship and was emailed a phone interview offer, scheduled for Tuesday!

I wanted your opinion though. Do you think you have a better chance at a job when you put "all your eggs in one basket" and make it clear that your heart is set on one area of nursing (ie. L&D, ER, ICU) or are you all applying for a whole bunch of areas of nursing and hoping for just whatever you get?

Ccsn33- nope, I just submitted the application. I did email the recruiter after the phone interview thanking her for her time and reiterating my interest in the position, although I don't think that was necessary.Robin- I think the recruiter told me three positions were being offered at all saints, which is not many, but better than one or two!! Do you live close to ft worth? I'm in Dallas, which makes me wonder if that's how they decided to give me an interview at Baylor Irving.

I also just submitted my app, I didn't call or anything. I do live in fort worth , she asked me which place I preferred . Wow, three is not many but I feel fortunate to have an interview . I got my rn last November and applied to so many internships over the past year without any luck. I went back and got my bsn so I am thinking that has helped . It's a tough market in dfw, just have to be persistent I guess.

I am waiting for the call for my scheduled phone interview now, for critical care.. and its running late...I am freaking out. I don't know what to expect. hope it goes well.

That's wonderful, congratulations!! I had my interview yesterday for l&d, I think it went well. The nurse manager was really nice. The internship program sounds great and they seem really supportive of new grads. She said they are hiring 6 people at Baylor all saints and we should know by next Friday ! Keeping my fingers crossed and praying I get it! How is everyone else doing?

finally had the phone screening interview for baylor critical care, don;t know what to expect, I am keeping my fingers crossed. hope they call me for the follow up. she asked me what baylor I wanted, I said irving but she didnt say if it was available, really don't know. guess I will know by next week though,

I cant believe I am finally one of the people to say this...but I got a job!!!!! I did the interview at Baylor Irving yesterday and the supervisor pretty much offered me the job right there, and wanted me to start immediately. She called today with her final decision. : )

I graduated in May 2011 so you have to understand, its been a long year and a half for me. My background is a little different in that I was in grad school this past year, which is why I think most hospitals were not hiring me. I withdrew this fall, and BAM! I became a very desirable candidate with tech experience, labor experience, certifications (NRP, AWHONN fetal monitoring) and I already had an RN license...just no hospital experience. But all thats about to change! I am really excited, and grateful for this web forum (and you all) which has helped keep me sane throughout this long process of applying over and over again. This is best situation I can imagine working in, even better than hospitals I have interviewed for in the past, so I would encourage you all still out that you will end up where you are supposed to be, to never give up, and do as much possible to stand out.

The best part about the interview was there were NO behavioral questions! It was like a dream. She said they'd be hiring 3 people, so two spots are still open! Best wishes to you all.

Wow ! That is awesome, congratulations!! I also graduated in July 2011 and have been looking for a while and applied to many internships with no luck . It is rough out there. I'm so glad you got a job you love!

I had my interview at All Saints on Tuesday . It went well, I think. I had 9 behavioral interview questions so you are lucky! The nurse manager was very nice though. She said they won't be deciding until next Friday though. I'm really hoping I get it but if not at least I had an interview .

I applied at Baylor and just finished my phone interview with them for Critical care. I have a face to face interview with Transplant and General Surgical ICU at BUMC on Friday! I'm so psyched yet freaked out!! Please pray for me!!
