Nurse with 11 years experience here including peds ventilator. I have been disappointed with Bayada. They advertise like they have a lot of work. BUT even after I pay out of pocket for a police check, Lots of unpaid time, lots of wasted gasoline. Average hourly works out to about approx. $16/hour. But there are so many wonderful reviews about how the people love the flexibility, being with the patients etc. in this website, glassdoor, indeed, etc. Location middle of country. Who writes these reviews?

Individual results may vary. Different people will have different experiences with different offices of different companies with different personnel at different points in time. It is the same everywhere. It is just in general that Bayada has a good reputation, as opposed to some other large-scale companies. And it is quite common for companies to advertise for new employees stating or implying that they have available work, then when one goes through all the hiring process, they find there is little work to be had, or none at all. The agency office, may have plenty of work, but it has little or none, for that employee. Or, the agency office just ran ads to gather more names and phone numbers for those inconvenient call-offs. That is the same everywhere too.

Depends highly upon the office/location. My experience has been very good with them, but this office is great. Just one office over and not so great.

This.

One office didn't have many cases that would fit me; I transferred into another office closer to me.

I always had two or three cases at a time and always did fill-ins for the office I worked for; I always either had a full paycheck or overtime-I stayed VERY busy.

See of you can transfer into another office with high volume; or split time between two agencies; if you have to work a certain amount of hours, you can and will find work.

I actually just started working for bayada. I really so think it must depend on the location of the agency you work for. I've read mixed reviews. My agency seems pretty good here in Vermont .... right now I'm having no problem getting full time hours. As a matter of fact, I have room to turn down shifts cause so many have been thrown at me lately because a nurse is out on injury and they also may want to have me pick up another patient when she's back so I'd have two. But they are very flexible and understanding so I don't end up overworked. And I guess you never really know how it's gonna be til you start working for them because they may try to play up their flexibility and full time hours to suck you in but I suppose you have to give it a try, tell them what you want, and then if they can't come through or fulfill promises then it's time to leave.
